Palais Hansen Pop-up Restaurant: Euro-Asian cuisine at star level
Vienna, 31 August 2023 – Euro-Asian cuisine on an international star level: this is the concept of the pop-up restaurant that awaits guests at the Palais Hansen Kempinski from 19 to 30 September with a combination of European haute cuisine and Asian food culture.
The two guest chefs, Simon Prokscha and Gerald Kortmann, are no strangers to Kempinski. Both have cooked at the legendary "Sra Bua by Juan Amador" at the Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch in Frankfurt.
With many years of experience in top international gastronomy, including with Peter Gilmore at the Quay Restaurant Sydney and Ritz Carlton in Wolfsburg, Simon Prokscha took over as head chef at Sra Bua in Frankfurt in 2015, where he cooked up a Michelin star. After another stint as general manager at TAWA YAMA, Prokscha joined the family business in 2021, where he focuses entirely on regional cuisine from his own sustainable production at the Schneiderhanser restaurant.
Gerald Kortmann, who also has many years of experience in upscale gastronomy, including at the 2-star restaurant Résidence and Villa Merton, most recently made a name for himself on the TV show "The Taste" and is active as an event chef.
"I am delighted to be working with my "old" team again after so many years," says Stefanos Melianos, Executive Chef at the Palais Hansen Kempinski, who was also responsible for the entire gastronomy as Executive Chef at the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt Gravenbruch from 2015 to 2019.
The pop-up restaurant at Palais Hansen Kempinski will be open from 19 September to 30 September, Tuesday to Saturday, 18:00 to 22:00. The dishes are served as five-, seven- or nine-course menus.
