Making Business Travel Easier

Whether you have travelled to client meetings once or a hundred times before, anyone will be able to tell you that navigating both work and travel stresses simultaneously can be a challenge.

The seasoned business travellers among you will have undoubtedly picked up some vital tips and tricks during your career, but what about those who have only recently had business travelling introduced into their job description?

Here, we have shared our tried and tested tips for making that distant meeting, conference or presentation an absolute success. We hope they help!

Opt for hand luggage where possible

If you have to jump on a plane to get to an important client meeting, a sales pitch or a presentation at another division of your company, packing correctly is vital. The last thing you want to be stressed by is your luggage.

Though unlikely, if you manage to pack everything in one case and decide to check it into the hold - and this bag were to go missing - the meeting you have just travelled a great distance to attend will probably not go to plan. You could find yourself without a change of formal clothing, your laptop and or even minus your vital notes. Opting for a hand luggage-sized case can offer you peace of mind and enough space for overnight essentials - just at the small cost of carrying it around with you for an hour or so.

Consider flying business class

Originally designed to be a middle ground between first class and standard seating, business class seating has evolved over the years, and - on some airlines - is now considered the premium option for flyers.

Though business class seating does come at an extra cost, you might find that it makes all the difference when it comes to arriving prepared at your destination - regardless of whether you are travelling on a long or short-haul flight.

Expect increased legroom, and on many airlines, fully-reclining seating - perfect for ensuring you don't let your energy levels fall. Many airlines also offer in-air Wi-Fi, meaning you will be able to continue your work even when you are 40,000ft in the air. And, as an added bonus, you can expect quality food and drinks. After all, you deserve some perks when being so dedicated to a job!

Select a hotel that can accommodate your needs

Choosing accommodation for business purposes is very different when you are selecting somewhere to enjoy a holiday. When it comes to your work, picking somewhere that is in the most convenient location takes precedence - but that doesn't mean you have to compromise on the little luxuries.

A good night's rest is imperative, and naturally lends itself, then, to a little indulgence when it comes to booking a room. It is likely that you will be looking for a space that has a desk in it too, so if possible, it can be beneficial to opt for a larger room or suite where the desk and seating areas are separate to the sleeping section. This makes the separation of work and leisure time even easier - a factor that is often lost on business trips.
