Culinary Christmas Delights and Great New Year’s Eve Entertainment

Berlin, 4 December 2023 – Elegantly decorated Christmas trees greet guests at the main entrance, while an oversized, handmade gingerbread house is the eye-catcher in the Brasserie Quarré. The winter wonderland in the Wintergarten resembles a snowy landscape that exudes the scent of a Christmas market. An increase in reservations for the festive season underscores the upcoming highlight of the year at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin. Before the luxury hotel in the heart of the German capital ends one of the most successful business years in its 26th year of existence, the exclusively compiled programme for the Christmas season and the annual finale offers an incredible array of culinary delights and exciting entertainment highlights.

‘We wish all our guests happy holidays! During this time of relaxation, our guests’ evident anticipation of indulgent moments with their loved ones while enjoying festive menus and a violinist or harpist performance in our Advent Brunch or Advent Afternoon Tea is infectious to our entire team’, reveals Karina Ansos, General Manager of the hotel. She added with a smile, ‘In particular, our top-class culinary and artistic offerings, including a fantastic live band, an entertaining trio with vocals and rousing DJ top hits at the turn of the year –in direct proximity to Germany’s biggest New Year’s Eve party at the Brandenburg Gate– will once again delight visitors from all over the world’.

Adlon Boutique for Christmas Presents

Shopping stress can be avoided easily at the traditional hotel on Pariser Platz. The new Adlon Boutique in the hotel’s shopping arcade offers popular Adlon souvenirs, such as feel-good bathrobes, high-quality wines, extravagant Christmas tree baubles and floristry from the hotel like opulent Advent arrangements, interior design treasures, the cuddly Adlon teddy bear or a mini elephant from the famous Steiff plush toy brand, as well as many other valuables, from now until 6 January 2024. There is even a nostalgic rocking horse waiting to make children’s eyes light up.

Table reservations for all festive gastronomic offers can also be made here daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Tickets for the glamorous New Year’s Eve celebrations can be purchased here as well. Without knowing someone’s personal preferences, gift seekers are always right with the stylishly designed Adlon voucher cards for all hotel services, including relaxing wellness hours in the exclusive Adlon Spa by Resense, which are guaranteed to put a smile on the face of the recipient.

Christmas feeling just like home at the Adlon

Those who want to leave the kitchen, living room and housekeeping preparations to the professionals in the hotel this Christmas and devote themselves exclusively to indulgence will be impressed by the grand hotel’s exquisite offers. A small contingent of rooms for the Christmas period is still available from EUR 400. For a home-away-from-home feeling, travellers can book decorations for their room or suite: a decorated Christmas tree, an Advent arrangement or typical seasonal sweets from the hotel’s own patisserie (Advent wreath for EUR 150, small Christmas tree for EUR 50 or large Christmas tree for EUR 450, available only in suites).

Oh, happy day…

Gospel music fans should reserve the Advent Saturdays of 9 and 16 December when pianist Joseph Odogu and his four singers will be singing pre-Christmas greetings to guests, Berliners and tourists from 14:00 in three different places in the Adlon and even on the outside balcony above the hotel’s main entrance with a view of the illuminated boulevard Unter den Linden at around 14:45.

Christmas Culinary Arts

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Brasserie Quarré on Pariser Platz will serve modern interpretations of classic Franco-German festive cuisine in an exquisite 4-course menu. A culinary greeting from the kitchen is followed by a duck essence with mushrooms and apple-celery chutney, turbot with orange-saffron broth, caviar and chestnut cream, as well as a pink saddle of venison with liquorice varnish, nut-spice crumble and Valle Maggia pepper jus. A juicy baked apple variation with caramel and poppy seeds rounds off the menu at a total price of EUR 140 per person.

Lovers of Swiss Chef Reto Brändli’s award-winning 2-star Michelin cuisine will be able to enjoy an exceptional 6-course menu in the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer on 24 and 25 December at 19:00, starting with Hiramasa yellowfin mackerel and East Frisian beef. Portuguese Carabinero Rosso, sea bass, duck by Jean Claude Miéral and Felchlin chocolate with rum, as well as delicate petit fours, guarantee an all-round harmoniously coordinated menu composition for EUR 585 per person, including a wine accompaniment.

For gourmets who like to put together their own individual dishes, the delicious Christmas buffet on the elegant Bel Etage on Christmas Eve from 18:30, accompanied by live violin music, offers a rich selection of festive starters, roast goose and duck with classic German side dishes, such as red cabbage or dumplings and a Christmas dessert variation with mandarin crème brûlée for EUR 195 per person, including a glass of champagne, water, soft drinks, wine, beer, coffee and tea. At the live cooking stations, the chefs will serve savoury components and freshly cut Baumkuchen.

Moreover, on the Bel Etage, guests can enjoy a Holiday Brunch with irresistible delights, including an exclusive oyster buffet on 25 December from 12:30 to 15:00, accompanied by the gentle live sounds of harps. At live cooking stations, the chefs will serve champagne risotto, roast duck and goose and various crêpes of your choice at a total buffet price of EUR 195 per person, including all drinks.

‘The Golden 1920s’ - New Year’s Eve 2023/2024 at the Adlon

At the turn of the year, Culinary Director Stephan Eberhard and his kitchen team will be treating guests at the Brasserie Quarré to a brilliant 6-course menu accompanied by live music with vocals, keyboard and saxophone from 18:00. Ceviche of langoustine with avocado and yuzu, quail consommé followed by quail ballotine and Baumkuchen with passion fruit and gold leaf broth kick off the special evening from 19:00. A duo of beef with white Alba truffle and Jivara spheres with mandarin sorbet and kalamansi will add to a memorable New Year’s Eve menu at a price of EUR 780 per person, including a wine accompaniment and midnight snacks.

The Ballroom of the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, glamorously decorated in gold and black like the entire hotel, invites its guests to an exhilarating New Year’s Eve ball in the style of the golden 1920s from 18:00, for which matching Roaring Twenties attire is welcome. With first-class live entertainment from the seven-member Chris Genteman Group, who will be playing well-known hits until 23:45 to get guests dancing and partying, the aforementioned exquisite 6-course menu and a touch of noble nostalgia will make this thrilling last night of 2023 unforgettable. The price of EUR 680 per person includes drinks and a midnight snack.

Guests who prefer à la carte dishes will also get their money’s worth in the luxurious Event-Location 1907 from 18:00 to 22:30, where they can choose from deliciously refined New Year’s Eve highlights from the show kitchen or select a 3-course menu for groups of 4 or more.

In the sophisticated Lobby Bar, a disc jockey will ensure an exuberant party atmosphere until 4:00 with great music hits from the past decades for extensive dancing and greeting of the new year 2024. Table reservations for all hotel areas are welcome by phone at +49 30 2261 1959 or by email at [email protected]. Professional childcare rounds off the family-friendly New Year’s Eve experience at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski.
