Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer’s Wine Collection Wins Three Accolades

Adlon gourmet restaurant invites guests to four exclusive wine events showcasing the finest rarities

Connoisseurs of the finest grape varieties and full-bodied wines are regularly drawn to the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, long renowned for its top-class wine list and the expertly curated pairings of Head Sommelier Hans-Martin Konrad. This year, the fine-dining restaurant’s wine collection of more than 1,600 labels, located within the legendary Hotel Adlon Kempinski at the Brandenburg Gate, has once again received multiple accolades from the internationally respected US trade magazine Wine Spectator and the Swedish Star Wine List.

Wine Spectator’s coveted Best of Award of Excellence, based on nearly 450,000 tasting recommendations, is as exceptional as the meticulously curated Adlon wine collection. Only five restaurants in Berlin and just 16 across Germany have been honoured with the publication’s prestigious two-glass distinction. Meanwhile, Star Wine List, whose rankings are determined by the expert assessments of sommeliers, food journalists and other wine professionals, has once again recognised the Adlon’s wine selection as a Silver Star Winner. Hans-Martin Konrad’s collection has also been featured once again on the recommendation platform, alongside only five other restaurants in Germany, in the category for the best wines available by the glass, while also earning recognition in the ‘Best Long List’ category for wine lists featuring more than 600 labels.

“A good wine list is a constantly evolving ‘organism’. It must highlight provenance and distinctive characteristics, spark curiosity and give guests the feeling that they are receiving personalised recommendations. Big names and hidden gems, iconic vintages and new additions should reflect the variety of a wine program”, says Hans-Martin Konrad. ‘These awards are a wonderful recognition of the work of our entire team – in the cellar, in service and at the table.”

At the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, this passion for wine is perfectly complemented by the cuisine of Jonas Zörner, whose menus combine classic French gastronomy with fresh Asian influences. The Michelinstarred restaurant views fine dining as a carefully orchestrated performance, where cuisine, wine, service, ambience and the iconic view come together to create a memorable shared experience. Here, wine is given the opportunity to become far more than a simple accompaniment. With this philosophy in mind, Restaurant Manager Oliver Kraft and his team have put together four exceptional events for connoisseurs of outstanding cuisine and extraordinary wines.

The gourmet series begins on 12 September 2026 with the Caviar Dinner by Imperial Caviar Berlin,
accompanied by the distinguished champagnes of Maison Billecart-Salmon. Guests will embark on a
journey of refinement with a pure caviar tasting, followed by four exquisite interpretations of this ‘black gold of the sea’. Served at convivial tables of eight, the experience includes an aperitif, a five-course menu, champagne, mineral water and coffee, priced at EUR 549 per guest.

On 24 October 2026, the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer presents ‘Live am Pass: A Convivial Winemakers’
Evening’, where gastronomy becomes theatre. Seated at four round tables, guests will enjoy a six-course menu prepared live before their eyes. Three renowned winemakers will host the evening, presenting their finest wines, while each course has been carefully crafted to complement the diverse regional wine selection. Including an aperitif, wine pairings, mineral water and coffee, this unique experience is available at EUR 395 per guest.

The gastronomic highlight ‘Great Burgundies before a Grand Backdrop’ takes place on 14 November
2026. In collaboration with Kierdorf Wein, the sole authorised importer of these wines in Germany, the Adlon presents one of the most exclusive dinners in the hotel’s history, featuring rare wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Rarities such as the 2022 Corton Charlemagne and the 2022 Montrachet Grand Cru, followed by the iconic 2019 La Tâche and Romanée-Conti Grand Cru, will be presented together in Germany for the very first time. Head chef Jonas Zörner has created a bespoke menu designed to showcase these world-famous wines to perfection. With only a limited number of places available, the experience includes an aperitif, a five-course menu, wine pairings (0.1 litre per course), mineral water and coffee or espresso, priced at EUR 3,600.

The series concludes on 29 November 2026 with the Goose Dinner, marking another first for the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer. Opening its doors on a Sunday outside regular operating hours from 13:00, the restaurant presents a pre-Christmas celebration centred around farm-raised goose from the Polting Estate. Head Chef Jonas Zörner offers a modern and aromatic interpretation that combines rustic warmth with the uncompromising precision of the Adlon’s Michelin-starred cuisine. Seated at individual tables, the three-course menu includes an aperitif, selected table wines by Hans-Martin Konrad, mineral water and coffee or espresso, and is available at EUR 300 per guest.

For all listed events, accommodation in various room categories is available at a preferential daily rate, subject to availability and upon request.
