As the glow of fairy lights and the soft flicker of the first Advent candles appear, Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin transforms into a resplendently decorated winter retreat. Showcasing magnificent Christmas trees, masterfully handcrafted Schwibbögen (traditional decorative candle holders), Christmas pyramids and nutcrackers standing over 1.5 metres tall, this Grand Hotel celebrates the world-renowned artistry of the Ore Mountains and warmly welcomes Berliners and international guests to pause, savour and celebrate.
The Adlon Wishing Tree in the hotel lobby is a particular eye-catcher. Carefully crafted stars hanging from its branches carry the wishes of children and adolescents from Berlin’s shared accommodation facilities, daycare centres and social institutions. Through this initiative, the hotel supports the local organisation ‘Schenk doch mal ein Lächeln’ (Give a Smile). Those who choose to fulfil a wish are helping to bring joy to a young heart this festive season.
The Adlon Flower Atelier & Boutique, open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00, offers artfully designed Advent arrangements, elegant bouquets, collectable edition Adlon Christmas tree baubles and bespoke mementoes. The ‘Adlon à la Karte’ gift card is a refined choice for those seeking unforgettable moments – available online and valid for gourmet experiences, overnight stays or relaxing moments at the Adlon Spa by Resense.
On the final three Saturdays in Advent, the Adlon Gospel Choir, led by pianist Joseph Odogu, will perform uplifting seasonal music from 14:00 in the lobby and outside from the balcony overlooking the hotel entrance. Their performances transport both guests and passers-by into the festive spirit.
The enchanting Festive Adlon Afternoon Tea will be served in the Bel Etage from 27 November to 28 December (except on 25 December), Thursday to Sunday from 14:00 to 17:00. The menu features savouries such as salmon sandwiches with cinnamon pear and duck breast tartlets with stewed plums, along with exquisite desserts including Araguani caramel tartlets, speculoos Baumkuchen and punch tart with blueberries. A plant-based alternative features lemon yuzu tartlets and chocolate gingerbread tart. Price: EUR 79 per person; EUR 39 for children aged 6 to 12.
The Adlon Champagne Advent Brunch will be held on 30 November and 7, 14 and 21 December from 11:30 to 14:30 in Brasserie Quarré. On 25 December, the Adlon Champagne Holiday Brunch opens with a welcome aperitif at 12:00 noon in the Grand Winter Garden, followed by a sumptuous buffet from 12:30 to 15:00 on the Bel Etage. Guests will enjoy refined harp music during both events. The buffet includes delicacies such as fresh oysters, marinated scallops, crispy roast duck and goose, pasta and risotto creations and an extensive dessert selection including the classic Adlon stollen. Price: EUR 195 per person, inclusive of champagne, wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee. Children pay half price.
On Christmas Eve (24 December) from 18:00 and on Christmas Day (25 December) from 12:00 noon, Brasserie Quarré presents an exquisite four-course menu featuring delicacies such as duck liver parfait with dark chocolate, grilled carabinero prawns with risotto and pink roasted saddle of venison with poppy seed gnocchi. Price: EUR 155 per person, excluding beverages. Alternatively, from 18:30 on Christmas Eve, guests may partake in an elaborate Christmas Eve Buffet in the Bel Etage, accompanied by live harp music. The buffet includes elegant starters, roast goose, engaging live cooking stations and desserts such as baked apple filled with marzipan and cinnamon sauce. Price: EUR 195 per person, inclusive of a glass of champagne, beverages and coffee specialities.
For discerning gourmets, Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer welcomes guests on 25 and 26 December with an extraordinary six-course menu curated by Head Chef Jonas Zörner. The menu is paired with hand-selected wines, and includes highlights such as tuna with Gillardeau oysters and Imperial caviar, Breton lobster with white Alba truffles and Wagyu short ribs with black Périgord truffles. The evening begins with an aperitif at 19:00, followed by dinner at 19:30. Price: EUR 585 per person, including wine pairing.
The Adlon Spa by Resense offers tranquil winter retreats with private spa suites, rejuvenating face and body treatments and calming rituals such as massages with warm basalt stones.
