Atmospheric December at Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin

Berlin, November 2022 - At the end of the year 2022, the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin presents a variety of culinary temptations for the winter holidays and shows its most atmospheric side: a 4-m-high real Danish Nordmann fir - traditionally cut especially for the hotel - is lavishly decorated in the hall, the scent of the Christmas season of punch and spices hangs in the air, and splendid handmade candle arches, Christmas pyramids and nutcrackers taller than 1.5-m represent the world-famous craftsmanship from the Erzgebirge and exude Christmas spirit and anticipation of Christmas Eve.

On all four Sundays in Advent, the Grandhotel at Pariser Platz invites guests to the exclusive Adlon Advent Brunch from 12.30 to 15.00, and on Christmas Day, to the Christmas Brunch on the Bel Etage. For 160 euros per person, the price includes drinks, buffets full of delicacies, such as a seafood station with freshly cracked oysters, oysters au gratin and an oyster variation, as well as lobster crostinis, roast duck, medallions of monkfish, and much more to tempt guests.

Also, on all four Sundays in Advent, a Christmas Afternoon Tea will be served in the lobby. Chef Pâtissier Steffen Holle and his team have created particularly eccentric sweet and savoury delicacies for this occasion. The price per person is 79 euros, and with a glass of champagne it is 98 euros.

The traditional roast goose will be offered in two courses at the Restaurant Quarré for lunch and dinner from 11 November and throughout Advent at a price of 68 euros per person.

And another speciality can be taken home or given as a small gift during the Advent and Christmas season: Delicious Dresden Christmas Stollen (1000 g) in an Adlon gift box that can be purchased at the Adlon for 39 euros. This stollen, handmade according to traditional recipes, is produced by the Dresdner Backhaus, a bakery with a family tradition dating back to 1825.

The Adlon restaurants offer a veritable feast of culinary delights on Christmas Day. In the Restaurant Quarré, a four-course menu at 140 euros per person, excluding drinks, will tempt guests on Christmas Eve and the evening of Christmas Day. The main course is crispy duck breast with red cabbage cream and truffles.

For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Reto Brändli's team has prepared an exquisite six-course menu at the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer. It opens with sea bass with wasabi, jelly and ponzu, followed by a duck liver terrine, Norway lobster with pumpkin, lychee and tarragon, and cod with broccoli, smoked almond and salt lemon. The main course is a Mieral guinea fowl with parsley root, grapefruit and fagottini. The sweet finale is a yoghurt with Tahitian vanilla, apple and buckwheat. The menu, including corresponding wine accompaniment, costs 525 euros per person.

With a view of the legendary Elephant Fountain in the lobby, a goose buffet can also be enjoyed on the Bel Etage on Christmas Eve. Soft piano sounds from the lobby round off the contemplative evening. The goose buffet is offered from 6:00pm at 160 euros per person, including a glass of champagne and non-alcoholic drinks.

Childcare for children aged 3 to 12 will be provided free of charge in a separate lounge on 25 December from 12.30pm to 4pm.
