Luxurious Istrian picnic in the historic park

Could there be a more perfect spot to relax with a luxurious Istrian picnic than the historic park surrounding Kempinski Palace Portorož? Lush greenery, vibrant perfumed roses, majestic shady trees and a view of the Adriatic Sea provide a beautiful stage for you to enjoy a hamper full of local specialities as well as European fare.

The hotel team will set up your picnic, complete with a blanket, cushions and table. Your hamper will contain all your crockery and cutlery together with Istrian wine, soft drinks and tea or coffee.

Before dining, it is aperitivo time!
Sundowner time at Forma Viva Coffee & Pastry of Kempinski Palace Portorož looks like a scene from a film set in the French Riviera. Sunset, a lounge atmosphere, a historical park and the grandeur of the Palace façade in the background, together with the sounds of chansons from the gramophone, make this a must-do experience while staying at the luxury hotel.
You will be served the aperitivo of the night by the hotel's barman, a perfect beginning of the evening, before going for dinner.

The menu, inspired by the timeless beauty of Sophia Loren, presents traditional Mediterranean and Istrian cuisine, represented in a modern way and combined with innovative cooking techniques. Allow our chef to take you on the path of the “Sophia Loren Signature Menu”. The special dinner is available in accordance with the opening hours of the restaurant Sophia.

Join us for an exceptional wine experience at the park of Kempinski Palace Portorož, where an unforgettable exploration of the most esteemed Slovenian wines awaits you.

Unwind your taste buds with premium wines and indulge in the diverse flavors and aromas from Slovenia's most esteemed wine regions, such as Verus, Šteyer, Kristančič, Movia, Benedetič, Guerila, Batič, Lavrenčič, Erzetič. You will also have the opportunity to taste renowned spirits from Italy with Rossi and Nonino distilleries joining us. Our sommeliers and wine experts will also be present and share their knowledge about viticulture and the art of tasting.

Don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in the world of fine wines and culinary delights and secure your spot at the most prestigious wine event in town! The price per entry is EUR 15.

CHRISTMAS MARKET

The festive spirit in the park of the hotel

Join our Christmas fairytale and walk through the decorated Christmas stands in the historic park of the hotel. 

The stands will offer various local handmade and ethnic gifts, culinary specialities and locally produced wines. A walk through the park will offer you a taste of various local goods and cheer you up with the Christmas jingles before you warm up with some mulled wine next to our traditional fireplace. At the opening ceremony of the Christmas market, you will also participate in the lighting ceremony of the Christmas lights, which will colour Portorož in the Christmas spirit.

The Christmas market will take place every weekend in December (Friday to Sunday). 

SPARKLING WINE FESTIVAL 

Bubbly Moments at Crystal Hall

In collaboration with the Portorož Tourism Board, the annual Sparkling Wine Festival event is returning to the Crystal Hall of Kempinski Palace Portorož on 26 December 2024. 

With the entrance fee, all visitors will receive a genuine crystal wine glass, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, and will be able to enjoy a four-hour sparkling degustation. 

Guests will be able to taste different sparkling wines from vineyards in the region. This year will also feature a selection of champagnes, local Istrian cuisine prepared by the hotel’s executive chef and live music performance. 

Simultaneously, renowned Slovenian sommeliers will announce the winner among the sparkling wines.
