Hanno Barkhoff is the new hotel manager at Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin.

Berlin, 5 September 2022 - Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin has a new hotel manager: Hanno Barkhoff takes up his position as deputy of the managing director, Michael Sorgenfrey, with immediate effect and is thus responsible for all operational and operative processes of the traditional house.

The 42-year-old Hanno Barkhoff can look back on an impressive career in the luxury hotel industry, demonstrating not only his international experience but also his professional expertise and organisational talent. He moves from Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich, where he worked since 2016 – first as Director Food & Beverage, later as Executive Assistant Manager and since 2021 as Hotel Manager. During this time, he was not only responsible for the smooth running of the major renovation and redesign projects in the room as well as the restaurant and bar areas, but he also successfully established the restaurant Schwarzreiter, which received the coveted first Michelin star under Maike Menzel. The accomplished hotelier is no stranger to his new workplace at the Brandenburg Gate, where he began his career in the Event Sales and Food & Beverage departments in 2002.

"I am very much looking forward to my task of supporting the team of Hotel Adlon Kempinski," says Barkhoff. "It is truly a special honour and challenge for me to be able to return and manage a hotel of this size and quality and with such a reputation."
Born in Munich, Barkhoff has travelled halfway around the world in the past 20 years. Stations in his international career with a strong F&B background were the JW Marriott in Dubai, The Lowell Hotel in New York and the Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf, before he then moved to Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and worked in Kuala Lumpur, the Maldives and in Tokyo as Director of Food & Beverage.
Hanno Barkhoff is married and has two small sons with his Japanese wife.
