BANGKOK, 7 December 2017 – Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin, the popular fine dining modern Thai cuisine restaurant at the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, has been awarded a Michelin one-star rating. The announcement was made during the official ceremony on 6 December to launch the Michelin Guide Bangkok Edition. The launch, supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, took place in the Chadra Ballroom at the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.

Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin is well known for its fine dining Thai-inspired dishes created and presented with impressive modern interpretations. The restaurant was conceptualised by world-famous Chef Henrik Yde Andersen whose Kiin Kiin restaurant in Copenhagen, was awarded one Michelin star.

“It is the ultimate honour for our restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star. I am very proud of my team at Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin. Since beginning our amazing culinary journey in 2010, we have worked hard to create and present outstanding modern Thai cuisine to our local and international guests. This is the proudest moment of our lives,” said Chayawee Sutcharitchan, Head Chef of Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin of Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.

Hotel General Manager Samir Wildemann praised the outstanding achievement of Chef Chayawee and his team and also paid tribute to the inspiration and innovation provided by Chef Henrik Yde Andersen. “Henrik understands the significance of this award as his Kiin Kiin restaurant in Copenhagen has enjoyed Michelin one-star status since 2008. This is well-deserved recognition for a restaurant that provides the highest standards in fine dining.”
