Kempinski Gallery - Márton Romvári's Paintings May 22, 2010 - September 10, 2010
Márton Romvári is the third generation of an internationally renowned artists' family. His work here represents one of : water, in a unique way. He says in a recent interview in Pont Magazin:
"The fact remains that I like to re-interpret water. When I find something, I am not satisfied with the first impressions, I tend to dissect, stretch them. Lately, I've taken interest in water. It's not easy because I don't want to paint water in a traditional way.
I'd rather recover its qualities, and my intentions complement this: when I find something that I like, i.e., it has an impression on me, I'll keep it and one day I will pull it out and us it.

Whatever I look at, say, a stain, it embodies something. I always associate something with it. I'm interested in movement, dynamics, and the rhythm of forces. Then, sometimes I change tone. This time, I forwent color for the dynamics of tonality and stains. But otherwise, there's not anything black and white".
Márton Romvári graduated from the University of Fine Arts in 2001, and has shown his work in numerous exhibitions since.
