Authentic Spanish Tapas & Bodega to open at Kempinski Hotel Mall of The Emirates
Kempinski Hotel Mall of The Emirates is bringing a new addition to Dubai’s culinary scene with the opening of its trendy authentic tapas restaurant, Salero Tapas & Bodega on 26 November 2013.
Salero Tapas & Bodega takes its name from a popular Spanish expression meaning flair and grace. Salero’s authentic food and drinks and warm contemporary atmosphere, bring the flair and grace of flamenco dancers, matadors, guitar melodies, and sunsets over Park Güell to the newly renovated Kempinski Hotel Mall of The Emirates. Working with an almost entirely Spanish team, Madrileño Chef Alvaro Roa, is determined to make the new bodega the talk of the town by bringing beloved Spanish cuisine and culture to Dubai.
Tapas are small sharing plates of simple, flavourful Spanish fare that encourage lively conversations around the dining table. Celebrations begin and friendships are deepened over plates of crispy ‘Calamares con Limon’ or spicy ‘Patatas Bravas’. The Salero menu will feature a combination of creative and authentic tapas as well as a wide selection of Paellas and fresh seafood specialties. An extensive beverage menu of regional specialties from Andalucia to Catalonia has been carefully chosen to compliment the cuisine. Citrus mixers and fruit infused combinations will balance the fresh flavours of the garlic, ripe tomatoes, peppers and paprika that feature prominently in Spanish cuisine.
“When we started working on the concept of a new restaurant for the hotel, we noticed a demand in the city for authentic Spanish food,” said Konstantin Zeuke, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Mall of The Emirates. “We created a trendy authentic tapas restaurant which brings a bit of Barcelona, Madrid and Seville to Dubai. We worked with the top industry consultants for this project, hiring a Spanish interior designer and branding agency from Barcelona to ensure the authenticity of the restaurant. Kempinski has always had a passion for great food and beverage and it is exciting to bring a new concept to Dubai which we plan to take to other Kempinski hotels in the future.”
Award-winning design agency Sandra Tarruella, created a traditional feel using ceramic tiles and original works of art from all over Spain. Recycled paper placemats and coasters placed directly on rustic wooden tables evokes a warm contemporary atmosphere. Spanish branding agency, RUN Extrabold, designed strong graphic elements using red, black, and white print on wood and craft paper.
Salero Tapas & Bodega is located on the ground level of Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates with its own entrance at the front of the hotel.
