Cattani Restaurant

Delightfully sophisticated

Eduard Cattani built the Hotel Titlis, the Kuranstalt and the Grandhotel Winterhaus, which today form Kempinski Palace Engelberg. As mayor, governor and chief justice, he shaped Engelberg’s development into a spa resort, driven by a spirit of innovation and the preservation of traditions.

Give history a voice, set a sophisticated tone and create lasting Kempinski moments: that is what Executive Chef Michéle Müller and her team aspire to. The credo can best be explained by the example of the modified Swiss classic “Älplermagronen”: the “Cattani Älpler Pasta” with caramelised apple slices will take your taste buds back to your childhood while you marvel at the carefree lightness of this variation of the traditional yet rather hearty dish.

Celebrating the farm-to-table concept, the Cattani kitchen uses high-quality Swiss products; many of the main protagonists on the menu come from the region: cheese and butter come from the surrounding Alps, trout and jerky from the valley floor, burrata from Entlebuch, honeycomb honey and lamb from the Lucerne hinterland. The same applies to vegetarian delicacies: everything served at your table is harvested or produced in Switzerland. There are exceptions on the wine list – even though the focus here is on local gems.
