Stephan Interthal appointed General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest

Stephan Interthal appointed General Manager of Kempinski Budapest

1 September, 2014 -  Kempinski Hotel Corvinus welcomes back Stephan Interthal, new General Manager  of the Budapest property.

Before his appointment, Mr Interthal was in charge of Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow from July 2013, where he oversaw the final stages of a 20-million-euro renovation project as well as the repositioning of the hotel. Prior to Moscow, he spent three-and-a-half years managing Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa, the Kempinski's flagship property in China.

He now returns to Budapest, where he held the position of General Manager from 1997 to 2004, during which years he, like his current predecessor, Emile Bootsma, implemented comprehensive refurbishment project at the Corvinus. While the entire ground floor of the hotel has reborn with a new gastronomy concept during the tenure of Mr Bootsma, Mr Interthal orchestrated ambitious renovation works to overhaul all of the rooms and suites, the spa and the restaurant.

Stephan Interthal is a graduate of the Cornell University and the recipient of a European Business MBA from Reims Management School in 2000. A true hotelier with management experience at Kempinski’s finest properties, including Kempinski Vier Jahreszeiten Munich and the legendary Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, Mr Interthal offers a wealth of experience from more than three decades in the hospitality industry. Throughout his remarkable career, he has consistently advocated for providing customers with impeccable service that exceeds expectations.

A German national, Mr Interthal speaks fluent English in addition to his mother tongue, and he is conversant in French. His passions in life are fine dining, wine and hospitality. His hobbies include travel and golf.
