Munich Marathon

• 11 October 2026
• Lace up for the Munich Marathon, a scenic route through the city. The event includes a traditional costume run or a mini-marathon, offering something for every runner. which takes participants across the entire city. There are also a variety of events around the race, such as the traditional costume run or the mini-marathon.

Long Night of the Munich Museums

Christmas Markets & Winter Events

Munich transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season, hosting a variety of Christmas markets that attract visitors from all over the world. This year, 24 Christmas markets feature a mix of traditional crafts, festive foods, and unique artistic presentations. Below are some of the most popular Christmas markets in Munich for you to explore:

Carnival

• Experience the carnival in Munich city centre and let yourself drift through the celebrating crowds. The highlight of the festivities is the market women's dance at the Viktualienmarkt on the traditional Shrove Tuesday.

Strong Beer Festival

• Strong beer is traditionally drunk during Lent. During this time, big breweries, like Paulaner or Augustiner, organise their annual strong beer festival on the Nockherberg and in the city centre.

St. Patrick's Day

• Every year on St Patrick's Day, Munich gets festive: traditional clubs and the Irish community celebrate the holiday with a parade and many other events.

BMW Open Tennis
