Kempinski Hotel Guiyang in China is proud to announce the appointment of Mr Florian Walther to the position of General Manager.
Florian K. Walther was born in Vienna – Austria. He started his career in his early years at the Vienna Penta Hotel as a trainee. After 5 years in Vienna he decided to go abroad, first in Europe in various destinations then moving on to Africa to Nigeria and Gabon.
During this period he held several management position such as Senior Sales Manager at the Kempinski Hotel Atlantic, Hamburg, Director of Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg and Deputy General Manager at the Sheraton Hotel Lagos.
Before he joined Kempinski Hotel Guiyang, he worked with Starwood Hotels & Resorts as General Manager for the Le Meridien Hotel in Port Gentil since 2010 where he successfully enhanced the performance of the hotel operation as well as guest experience and staff satisfaction. He was responsible for the vision, growth, development and renovation of the hotel.
Mr Walther is a seasoned hotelier with vast experience in the hospitality industry. He visited the Universities Insead, Fontainebleau - France as well as Cornell, Ithaca - US. In addition to his German mother language Mr Walther speaks English and French.
With over 25 years in the hotel industry and his special taste for European flair, Mr Walther returns to Kempinski and is taking over his role as General Manager of our iconic Hotel in Guiyang.
