Big variations in temperature between summer and winter, and between day and night are characteristic, as well as the refreshing Maloja wind that begins to blow around midday creates excellent conditions for windsurfers and sailors.
Currency
The local currency is the Swiss Franc (CHF), with its minor unit "Rappen". Locals also refer to it as „Stutz“.
Language
There are three official languages in Graubünden, German being the most common, followed by Italian and Romansh, the traditional Engadine language that is still taught in school and also spoken by most of the locals.
Dress Code
When choosing the outfit, one should always keep the Alpine climate in mind. In winter, a warm jacket as well as gloves and a hat is mandatory, in summer a light jacket and sunglasses also come in handy.
