Doha, 12 April 2018 – Marsa Malaz Kempinski The Pearl – Doha is being recognized by the China Tourism Academy (CTA) with the Welcome Chinese Certification.

On 10 April at the Msheireb Enrichment Centre, the Recognition Ceremony was held to celebrate
this important milestone.

With the first batch of hotels having fulfilled the requirements for the Welcome Chinese
Certification Program.

The event was attended by senior representatives from the Chinese Embassy and the Welcome
Chinese and Qatar Tourism Authority, which they have joined hands to empower tourism and its
allied sectors in Qatar to meet the requirements of Chinese tourists.

Following the Certification Program, Marsa Malaz Kempinski will undertake to provide access to
Chinese TV and newspapers, and a Chinese option on the breakfast menu. The Certification
Program also includes the provision of free Wi-Fi, hot water (for Chinese tea), and the possibility
for Chinese guests to pay for products and services with UnionPay, the Chinese-approved payment
processor.

Wissam Suleiman, General Manager of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, said: “Thanks to the Welcome
Chinese Certification Program, we are China-ready and can tap into the largest outbound tourism
market in the world. We are excited to benefit from training opportunities and visibility in the
Chinese tourism market, as well as targeted online and offline marketing that directly reaches the
Chinese traveller".

“Our Director of Sales, Damla Çuhadaroğlu Bayık, will participate at the end of May in a roadshow
throughout China, with the purpose to introduce key members of the Qatari tourism and hospitality
sector to Chinese trade agents and tour operators; this is going to represent abundant opportunities for our business development” he added.

Hassan al Ibrahim, chief tourism development officer at QTA, said: " Qatar was granted Approved
Destination Status (ADS) in China last month, allowing it to receive tourist groups from China and
to promote Qatar as a tourism destination for the Chinese travellers, ensuring safe and reliable
tourism services for Chinese customers, from both local travel agencies and international tour
operators."

Jacopo Sertoli, president of Welcome Chinese, said:"Qatar presents exciting opportunities for
Chinese visitors to discover a modern hub rooted in cultural authenticity. With visa-free entry for
Chinese visitors, and direct flights to six cities in China, Qatar is primed to receive more visitors
