Inspired by the beautiful mountains of Berchtesgaden, chef patissier Michael Stahl created Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden's very own “Haustorte”. The result, the Eckerbichl cake, is a creation by the incumbent German vice champion of confectioners of the region Berchtesgaden, and a delicious treat that perfectly encapsulates its mountain surroundings.
The cake is made of the finest layers of pine honey buttercream, wild cranberry compote and chocolate crème with mountain gentian, surrounded by exquisite hazelnut Dacquoise. The result simply melts on the palate, and the delicious cake truly seduces diners with the sweetest treasures of the Berchtesgaden Alps.
