Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates Sells 570-metre Stollen Cake for Charity

A total of AED 71,196.50 was raised, with all proceeds going to the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates raised AED 71,196.50 for charity over the weekend through the sale of its largest Stollen cake ever, which measured a staggering 570 metres. This is the seventh consecutive year the hotel’s skilful culinary team has baked a traditional Stollen cake at the start of the festive season.

The Stollen, a festive variety of the traditional German fruitcake, took a team of 14 chefs three weeks to prepare, and with the help of 60 volunteer team members the event was a success. The cake was displayed at the Mall of the Emirates from 10:00 am onwards on Friday morning and was sold out within 12 hours.

Roula Farah, Public Relations Coordinator of the Dubai Centre for Special Needs said, “We have worked with Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates for many years and every month our students come to the hotel for their work placements, which are a very valuable and integral part of our curriculum. The charity cake sale is a highlight on our annual calendar and many of our students were at Mall of the Emirates to enjoy this festive and noble event.” She added, “We would like to thank the entire team at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates who have worked around the clock for weeks to make this event happen.”

Alejandro Bernabé, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates said, “Over the years the Stollen event has become one of the most anticipated events of the year for us at the hotel and it’s great to see our employees come to together as a team to make the cake sale such as success.” He added, “I would like to thank everyone that came along and supported our cake sale this weekend and for helping us raise funds for the children of the Dubai Centre for Special Needs. With this year’s cake sale, the total amount raised from this initiative is AED 322, 196.50.”
