A brand new summer restaurant is “popping up” in the hotel garden of Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul thanks to its new partnership with MSA Culinary Arts Academy of Istanbul, the best culinary school in town.

This restaurant is the second offering from a partnership which unites both parties in a number of joint projects ranging from hiring trainees to chef exchanges to Turkish cuisine promotions abroad.

The pop-up restaurant will operate from 1 May to 27 June 2014, and it will be open from 17:00 to 23:00 every day. MSA’s campus restaurant, Okulun Mutfağı, which only serves lunch, will be recruited to continue serving Istanbullus and hotel guests in the evening at Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul, amidst the palm trees overlooking the Bosphorus.
The menu will be specially created by the chefs of both partners. MSA and hotel staff will work together to serve the guests at this very special restaurant.
This pop-up restaurant is significant for both partners in that MSA will be going out to another venue and Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul will be welcoming a pop-up restaurant on its property. Both circumstances are a first time for each partner.
“We see this partnership as a social responsibility more than anything else. MSA is the only international culinary school in Turkey qualified by City & Guilds, the leading UK accrediting agency, and they have a very high profile educational system,” said hotel General Manager Ralph Radtke. “We love contributing our knowledge and experience to local community, to those who are passionate about food and beverage. MSA students will have the opportunity and the privilige to serve at a landmark; this will be an incomparable experience for them. On the other hand, our own staff will benefit from the very special experience and synergy as well for sure,” he added.
In March 2014, the hotel’s signature dining venue Tuğra Restaurant, which serves Ottoman cuisine, presented MSA’s Okulun Mutfağı Restaurant with a special menu and Tuğra chefs cooked at the restaurant during lunch. On the other hand, MSA’s Tonka Cake has been a guest cake on the hotel’s Gazebo Lounge’s menu. The Gazebo Lounge is the hotel’s pastry and chocolate heaven. The new partners plan to have a second pop-up restaurant in September 2014.
