Charity Concert ‘Classical and Jazz’

Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow - Hot news

On 7 October, the famous pianist Riad Mammadov performed a concert at Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow in support of the House with a Lighthouse Charity Foundation.

Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow, with its rich history and distinctive character, has been a strategic partner of House with a Lighthouse Foundation for many years. True to tradition, it once again generously provided its hall for the concert free of charge.

Riad Mammadov blends different genres and musical styles in his work. He performs pieces from the classical academic repertoire and also promotes the jazz-mugham genre in Russia and worldwide, which has become a focus of his artistic and scholarly pursuits. The East permeates the musician’s repertoire both directly and metaphorically, expressed in his performance style, discovered intonations and motifs. The public knows him from his collaborative projects with Teodor Currentzis and his orchestra musicAeterna, as well as from his albums featuring academic, jazz and original works.

On a single stage, Mammadov united classical and jazz, performing works by Brahms, Scriabin, Chopin and Bach alongside his own original arrangements. In the concert’s second part, Sergei Korchagin joined him on double bass. Together, they gave familiar classical pieces a fresh sound, merging two universes: classical and jazz.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards supporting children and young adults with serious illnesses at the House with a Lighthouse Foundation.
