Djibouti Palace Kempinski fête ses 10 ans

The Djibouti Palace Kempinski celebrated its 10th Anniversary on November 10th 2016, the event consisted of an official ceremony and a glamorous gala dinner at the lawn of the property.
Amongst the guests of honors were present, H.E.Mr Abdoulkader Kamil Prime Minister, Government officials, ambassadors, organizations representatives, business partners, Managing Director of BE Health Ms. Anne-Marie Bettex and our Senior Vice President – Operations ME&A Mr. Henk Meyknecht.

The event celebrates a decade since the opening of the hotel in the Horn of Africa, where it has become an institution over the years. The Djibouti Palace Kempinski is known to be the venue where the highest number of leaders of the world stayed. For a decade we provided Luxury service to many celebrities amongst which are, H.E.Mr. Li Yuanchao, H.E Mr Paul Kagame, H.E Mr Mahmoud Abbas, H.E Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ms. Susan Rice, Ms. Diane Kruger, Mr. James McAvoy, Mr Djimon Hounsou and many more.

Mr. Gilles Longuet opened the official ceremony were all the officials of the country were present, followed by Mr. Henk Meyknecht and H.E.Mr Abdoulkader Kamil’s speech. To honor the long serving employees, Mr. Henk Meycknecht along with H.E.Mr Abdoulkader Kamil presented Awards of Appreciation to thirty four (34) colleagues who celebrated 10 years of services within the Djibouti Palace Kempinski family.

To complete the celebration, the evening was full of glamour at the gala dinner and with refined 4 set course our Executive Chef’s creativity was showcased to our invitees. We had cultural and folkloric groups performing the entire night to entertain the guests before we close the night with a spectacular Fireworks.

Thanking the Prime Minister and honorable invitees, Mr. Gilles Longuet General Manager of Djibouti Palace Kempinski said “I would like thank the Djibouti Palace Kempinski employees for their commitment and enthusiasm for the past 10 years and the Kempinski group and Nakheel Hotels & Resorts to have entrusted me for the past 3 years to operate this beautiful landmark property in the Horn of Africa. I also take the opportunity to thank the President of the Republic of Djibouti H.E.Mr Ismail Omar Guelleh for his vision and initiative to construct a landmark property in less than a year. We are living today the history and we can be sure that the image and the value of Djibouti Palace Kempinski in the eyes of the Djiboutians will remain intact for many more decades to come”.
