MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is the most convenient form of public transport in Singapore. Stations and vehicles are air-conditioned and, like all other places in Singapore, very clean. Being a multicultural melting pot, Singapore offers a fantastic variety of outstanding dining options – from hawker centres featuring titbits from dozens of different ethnic cuisines to Michelin-starred restaurants. The main influences derive from Malay, Indian and Chinese cuisine, but Western food is also very well represented.
Singapore is considered one of the cleanest cities in the world. Littering and chewing gum are strictly prohibited and result in severe fines. Also, eating and drinking on public transport and public smoking are not allowed.
Mobile Phones & Roaming
Many international mobile network operators have roaming agreements with local providers. For longer stays (30-180 days), local providers (Singtel, M1 & StarHub) also offer prepaid packages for calls and data.
Singapore uses 220-240 volts, 50 Hz AC and type-G plugs.
Medications and Narcotics

If you are ’re planning to travel with medication, you may need to apply for approval from Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority. Please also be advised that narcotics and psychotropic drugs are strictly prohibited by the Government of Republic of Singapore and may result in severe penalties (including the death penalty).
