We recognise that the natural environment around us and social community activations are the main drivers of tourism in the area. The Apurva Kempinski Bali shall maximise its social contribution to the Indonesian community and to Bali in particular.

1.       Traditions & Culture

Paying homage to the Indonesian motto ‘Bhinneka Tunggal Ika’ or ‘Unity in Diversity’ and to the beauty of Majapahit kingdom legacy, every aspect of The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a true embodiment of Indonesian elegance, where centuries of Indonesian culture, craft and belief are distilled and brought to life.

  • Architecture

From the unmistakable characteristic of Balinese architecture, landscape and guiding principle, to the Indonesian-inspired interior design aesthetics, the nation’s heritage and meticulous craftsmanship are thoroughly reflected throughout the hotel.

  • Brand Campaign - Powerful Indonesia

This year-long campaign encompasses 12 curated monthly themes, focusing on partnership with people across disciplines, cultural-diversity guest experiences, an empowerment programme with educational institutions, sustainable activations and a development platform for people with disabilities. Continuing its success as our campaign in 2022, Unity in Diversity is now part of our ‘Powerful Indonesia’ to celebrate the rich cultural diversity, heritage and philosophy of Indonesia’s seven main regions: Sumatra, Java, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua. These are part of the guest experiences throughout the resort, which portray mystical stories from those regions, their holistic treatments, culinary diversity, craftsmanship and traditional games. Distinctive bi-monthly programmes, special events, exhibitions and displays by highly acclaimed artisans, all adding to the dizzying picture of Indonesia’s diversity.  Explore more: Powerful Indonesia | The Apurva Kempinski Bali

2.       Community

Community initiatives and collaborations with partners who share similar values and vision is key to achieving sustainable growth.

  • Sustainable Agriculture with Samsara Living Museum

A comprehensive farming and training initiative in partnership with Samsara Living Museum to support the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices. Throughout the regular 12-month programme, The Apurva Kempinski’s hydroponic farming and organic experts will support Samsara Living Museum’s agriculture team and local community in Jungutan village of Karangasem - Bali, in addressing challenges by sharing the skills and know-how to farm more sustainably through a series of interactive training sessions and group work practices. The project utilises part of Samsara’s land to grow the resort’s most-required organic crops, such as tomatoes, chilli, eggplants, the ginger family, herbs and edible flowers, which will be purchased by the resort. • Hope for the Future with Solemen

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is committed to contributing to the improvement of the life conditions of the underprivileged, and to working towards a better future. As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility program, guests are invited to participate in our efforts and donate USD 1 upon check-out. The collected funds are donated through Solemen Indonesia foundation or simply known as Solemen, a Bali-based non-profit organisation focusing on severely disadvantaged families with various issues in the poverty-stricken communities, ranging from health situations to the educational needs of children.
