Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok upholds the highest sustainability standards, reflecting a
profound commitment to environmental stewardship and community support.
Our dedication to sustainability is evident throughout the hotel—from our lush gardens to
thoughtfully designed interiors. We adhere to international standards for energy and resource
efficiency and are committed to the EarthCheck Certified monitoring programme.
Recent improvements include the installation of solar cell panels in July 2024, an initiative
aimed at generating renewable energy and reducing reliance on conventional electricity. The
hotel has also incorporated UV-glazing glass windows, which provide enhanced thermal
insulation and help lower air conditioning energy consumption. Our gardens and outdoor spaces
not only enhance the hotel’s aesthetic appeal but also create an eco-friendly sanctuary in the
heart of Bangkok.
EarthCheck Programme
Our participation in the EarthCheck Programme certifies our commitment to responsible
operations. We have adopted extensive measures to reduce plastic use, promote recycling and
source organic and free-range products. Eco-friendly amenities, such as biodegradable straws
and reusable glass water bottles, are provided to guests. We prioritise locally sourced organic
produce and free-range eggs and poultry in the restaurants. Additionally, the Green Linen
Artefact Initiative ensures that linens are changed every two days, unless requested otherwise,
with the Pla Thapien or Thapien Fish, serving as a symbol of this commitment.
Our back-office operations also reflect our dedication to sustainability. We implement double-
sided printing and recycling. Our top priorities include turning off the lights during one-hour lunch
break and conserving water with the use of low-flow fixtures and providing staff training on
efficient water use.
Community Engagement
The commitment to sustainability extends to the selection of fair-trade and sustainable products
for guest rooms and facilities, including restaurants, bars and a spa. We actively engage with
the community through various fundraising and volunteering activities, supporting initiatives that
promote responsible practices and provide assistance to those in need.
CSR Initiative
We proudly support the BE Health, a global corporate social responsibility programme
spearheaded by Kempinski Hotels, dedicated to empowering communities by addressing their
specific health needs. This initiative collaborates closely with individual hotels to develop
tailored health programmes, guided by stringent quality standards, thorough monitoring, and
evaluation. BE Health operates as an independent legal entity under Swiss law, with its
headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has embraced this programme by partnering with the Autistic
Thai Foundation. Through this collaboration, the hotel is committed to enhancing the health and
well-being of children and adults with autism, providing the care and support they need to thrive.
This initiative underscores the hotels' dedication to making a positive impact in their local
community, aligning with Kempinski’s broader mission to foster healthier, more resilient
societies worldwide.
Fundraising Activities
In Thailand, Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok and Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok have
partnered with the Autistic Thai Foundation, which provides vital care and support to children
and adults with autism and special needs. Funds are being raised through initiatives such as the
‘One Euro Donation Per Night’ from guests and the BE Health Online Auction, which will be held
from 27 September to 17 October 2024. These efforts aim to provide essential medical care,
equipment and support to enhance the lives of these individuals and their families.
