Dresden is back – Festive reopening of Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden
Dresden, 16 February 2024–One of the most important events in Dresden took place yesterday. Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden reopened after a year of renovation. The ceremonious event was attended by numerous guests including politicians, representatives of the owners, Kempinski S.A., as well as invited friends of the hotel from all areas of society.
Under the motto ‘History retold’, the famous 18th-century building, with its historical details, was redesigned with great care and attention, offering comfort and state-of-the-art technology for contemporary, understated luxury. From now on, guests will have the unique opportunity to experience Dresden once again in all its splendour and beauty.
Even at first glance, the light-flooded lobby, with its unusual textile wallpaper, warm sandstone floors and two cosy lounge areas, is predestined to become the city’s most popular meeting place.
Berlin interior designer Markus Hilzinger captured the hotel’s heritage and created an extraordinary and unique symbiosis of history and modern elegance. A special lighting concept, modelled on the course of the Elbe river, connects the ‘living room of Dresden’ with the newly founded pâtisserie ‘Amalie’. With its eye-catching design, cosy alcoves and delicacies created by the in-house pâtissier, the ‘Amalie’ invites guests to enjoy and linger all day.
The newly designed 180 rooms and 31 suites also impress with their elegant scheme and set new standards for contemporary luxury with their refined details. Hand-picked furniture and selected works of art give each room an individual touch, creating an exclusive yet cosy atmosphere. Historical elements have also been incorporated into the colour scheme and placed in a new context. The various suites, furnished with fine works of art and contemporary national and international art treasures, are a particular highlight. Sustainable and allergy-friendly building materials played a central role in the extensive renovation.
Gastronomically, the newly remodelled Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden impresses with several highlights. The newly designed ‘Das Palais’ restaurant offers a wide selection of local specialities and international classics. The created ‘Private Dining Room’ is ideal for occasions.
In the ‘Kastenmeiers’ restaurant, gourmet chef Gerd Kastenmeier provides his guests with refined fish dishes. This maritime offering is complemented by the restaurant’s sushi and oyster bar.
The reopening of Hotel Taschenberg Palais Kempinski not only ‘retells the story’ of the hotel and the city but also creates a magical place where people from all over the world can rediscover and experience their personal stories in an environment full of elegance, zeitgeist and luxury.
