Ristis is easily accessible by cable car. Around Ristis, you will find playgrounds and a big terrace to soak up the sun. To reach Brunni Hütte (Brunni hut), either take the chairlift or hike up via Rigidal Alp where you will meet cows and goats on the way and also can enjoy some refreshments.

Via Ferrata
Engelberg offers 5 different via ferratas, from beginner-level to advanced.
For this activity, a guide is recommended.

➔ For beginners and families: Via Ferrata Brunnistöckli

A short approach from Brunni Hütte, it takes approximately 1.15 hours to climb. Two suspension bridges guarantee a nice experience for everyone. After the hike you reach Brunni Hütte in only 20 minutes.
➔ For advanced hikers: Via Ferrata Rigidalstock
 

The via ferrata on the Rigidalstock (2593 m) leads to a panoramic summit and offers stunning views over the whole region. Duration is approximately 4.30 hours, the via ferrata is categorized as “moderate”. You climb up –and down on two different routes.

Globi’s Alpine Playground (Ristis)

At Globi’s (the blue mascot) alpine playground, right next to the Berglodge Ristis, there is countless playground equipment, a summer toboggan run as well as a “wild water world”. Children will easily spend a day up at the playground –and will want to come back for sure.
 

Tickle Trail at the Härzli lake

While the siblings, mum or dad or partner are doing a via ferrata -walk around the small lake, play with the water and soak in the sun.
 

Globi’s Treasure Hunt

The treasure map and the solution leaflet (CHF 5) are available in the Berglodge Restaurant Ristis or up at Brunni Hütte (Kräuterhut). There are two different treasure hunts: one for children from 3 years old (3.5km) and the other from 7 years old (4.5km).

Lunch

Have a hearty lunch at Brunni Hütte, which offers an alpine feeling and mountain hut, or at Ristis which is very suitable for small children as you only need to take the gondola up.
