Kempinski Hotel Nanjing has appointed Mr. Maik Lilienthal as the hotel's Executive Chef, responsible for the hotel's culinary creations, menu development, team operations and management.

Born in Germany, Mr. Maik Lilienthal has shown great passion and talent for cooking since he was a child, and at age 19, he began his journey of culinary exploration. With more than 25 years of culinary and management experience in luxury hotels in Germany, Sanya and Beijing, Mr. Lilienthal is fluent in German and English, and his nearly decade-long involvement in China has given him the ability to communicate in Chinese, which has enabled him to learn about the local cuisine and culture. He said it was a great honour to join Kempinski Hotel Nanjing.

"Nanjing is a city steeped in history with a rich and diverse culinary culture, and I will lead the team of chefs to create a unique and memorable dining experience based on the exploration of local ingredients and flavours and the art of presenting them in a new way."

In his new role, Mr. Lilienthal will be responsible for the culinary offerings of Kempinski Hotel Nanjing's four restaurants, bars and executive lounges, including Jin Kai Lou Chinese Restaurant, Local Palate All Day Dining, Fang Mo Bar & Lounge, as well as the presentation of the hotel's banquets and in-room deliveries. With his passion for food, continuous exploration and innovation, he will lead the hotel's team of chefs to the next level with his rich experience and craftsmanship, creating an extraordinary culinary journey exclusively for guests of Kempinski Hotel Nanjing.
