Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou presents this year's mooncakes

Fuzhou, 1 August 2024 – Paying homage to the traditional culture of Fuzhou and reflecting the luxury and quality of the Kempinski brand, Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou introduces two mooncake gift boxes in 2024.

‘The mountains and landscapes of Fujian are full of wonders, how great for Wuzhu founding the nation’ is derived from an ancient poem engraved in the hotel's lobby artwork, Landscape of Blessing. This poem comes from the Ming Dynasty's Wang Gong's ‘The Wonders of the Three Mountain Scenery’. It praises the natural beauty and cultural characteristics of Min areas, as well as the important role of Wuzhu in the development of Min-Yue culture.

The design of the inner mooncake gift box is taken from the iconic White Pagoda and Dingguang Temple in Fuzhou. This blend of ancient elegance and bright vitality highlights the noble character of the gift box while preserving its cultural connotations.

Another gift box features the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys of Fuzhou, where the white walls and grey tiles are regarded as a museum of Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Many historical and cultural figures, such as Lin Zexu, Bing Xin and Lin Juemin, have emerged from these long alleys. The egret, a symbol of good luck and longevity, can be seen bathing in the bright moonlight. It traverses between the city buildings and spreads its wings over the confluence of a hundred rivers.

Respecting tradition, Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou has selected mooncake flavours that include classic lotus paste, lava custard and nuts, as well as unique local gourmet flavours such as jasmine tea and Buddha Jumping Over the Wall. This diverse combination of flavours ensures the mooncake box appeals to a wide range of customers.
