Ulrich Heimann and his team at the gourmet restaurant PUR have maintained their
Michelin star for an impressive 17 years. Now, they have been honored with a second
coveted Michelin star, a prestigious recognition for their culinary achievements.
Receiving the second star is a moment of pure pride for Heimann: “I am overwhelmed by

Heimann impresses guests with a pure and artisanal cooking style, centered on regional

Background on Ulrich Heimann:
Ulrich Heimann, raised in the idyllic Black Forest, laid the foundation for his remarkable
career there. In 1992, he took on a role at the “Prinz Frederik Room” in Hamburg, where
he earned his first Michelin star just three years later. Since 2005, he has led what is now
PUR (formerly Le Ciel) in Berchtesgaden. In 2006, he and his team earned their first
Michelin star for the gourmet restaurant. “For me, PUR represents pure passion, masterful
culinary artistry, and a profound love for ingredients. It fills me with pride to lead such an
outstanding restaurant, and I am excited to bring the new design, space, and concept to life
alongside my team,” Heimann shares.
