The Renovation of the Taschenbergpalais will soon begin

Dresden, 8 December 2022 – The renovation of Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden is approaching. As already announced in May 2022, the traditional house, which was opened in 1995 as the first five-star hotel in Saxony, will be fully renovated. The lobby, rooms and suites as well as the Café Vestibuel will be changed to meet the highest luxurious standards, and the technical facilities will be modernised with a focus on sustainability, the environment and energy.

In order to carry out the renovation as efficiently and quickly as possible, the hotel will close its doors from 3 January, and hotel operations are expected to be suspended for ten months. The hotel’s managing director, Marten Schwass, says, “With pride and gratitude, we look back on almost 28 years of successful Grand Hotel history and are now looking forward to putting our beloved Grande Dame to a well-deserved beauty sleep. Equally, however, we are already looking forward to a glamorous awakening.

Nevertheless, the Taschenbergpalais will not remain completely closed. The restaurants and partners located in the Taschenbergpalais, such as Paulaners, Sophienkeller, Café Apotheke, Juwelier Leicht, Walentowski Galleries, TimeRide, Kids up to date and the APCOA underground car park under the palais, will remain open. In the meantime, the fish restaurant Kastenmeiers is moving back to its previous location, the Kurländer Palais, and even extending its opening hours there. Connoisseurs will not be denied the culinary service of the five-star hotel either – as the catering offer will be strengthened and expanded during the hotel’s closing time.

Lovers of the Taschenbergpalais now have the opportunity to secure a piece of the Taschenbergpalais. All furnishings, from the Regent Standard Room to the Café Vestibuel, to the historic Crown Prince Suite, will be sold and logistically handled exclusively via the website and online shop of the Twins Company from Berlin. The individual pieces can be purchased until 31 December 2022. Self-collection and delivery will take place from 5 January 2023.

In order to stay up to date during the renovation, interested people can register for the Taschenbergpalais newsletter and be kept informed.
