Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden Receives AFBA Seal of Approval

Dresden, August 2025 – At the beginning of 2025, Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden received full certification from the Allergy Friendly Building Alliance GmbH (AFBA), officially recognising the property as an allergy-friendly building. The AFBA seal, awarded in collaboration with the Advisory Board, represents a comprehensive medical and architectural standard. It is the world’s first medical endorsement that acknowledges new buildings and existing buildings, as well as entire neighbourhoods, designed, constructed or restored to be allergy-friendly and health-oriented. The seal promotes the creation of spaces that support well-being by meeting the highest standards in construction quality, indoor air quality and material selection. Such environments contribute to increased comfort, fewer sick days and alignment with ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria.

During the extensive renovation of Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden, stringent requirements were fulfilled to reduce allergen exposure for guests and staff alike. Measures included the integration of low-pollen landscaping, selection of building materials with minimal allergen and pollutant content, use of fragrance- and preservative-free cleaning agents, and consistent, high-quality maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems.

‘We are proud to have created an environment at Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden that offers the highest level of comfort, also from a medical point of view. Naturally, all our guests benefit from this, as what supports individuals with allergies also enhances the overall environment’, says Marten Schwass, Managing Director.
