MERIAN AWARD 2026

Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden - Royale Suite

Dresden, June 2026 – Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden has been honoured with the inaugural MERIAN AWARD 2026 in the ‘Exclusuite’ category. The accolade recognises exceptional travel experiences and celebrates the hotel’s Royal Suite as one of Germany’s most outstanding suite concepts.

With the newly launched MERIAN AWARDS, the renowned travel magazine MERIAN honours destinations, concepts and personalities that shape travel in a distinctive and inspiring way. The Royal Suite at Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden impressed the jury with its seamless blend of contemporary luxury, sophisticated design and a unique location in the heart of Dresden’s Old Town.

Spanning 380 sq m, the Royal Suite offers an exclusive living experience of the highest calibre. Its features include two spacious bedrooms, a private spa area with a Finnish sauna and marble bathtub, a kitchenette and a walk-in wardrobe. However, it was not only the exceptional amenities that secured the award but also the remarkable connection between the suite’s interior and Dresden’s historic landmarks, which unfold just beyond its windows.

In its citation, the MERIAN jury stated:

‘380 sq m and every single one boasts style and the very finest furnishings: the Royal Suite has been the crown jewel since the property’s reopening in 2024. What convinced the jury, however, was not just the luxurious amenities, the private kitchen and the personal spa area – but above all, how this suite dialogues with the beauties outside its windows: the Royal Palace, the Zwinger and Theaterplatz.’

‘This award fills us with great joy and makes us immensely proud,’ says Marten Schwass, Managing Director of the hotel. ‘It reaffirms our commitment to offering guests extraordinary experiences that extend far beyond a traditional hotel stay. My special thanks go to our entire team. With passion, professionalism and meticulous attention to detail, our colleagues recreate the unique atmosphere that defines Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden every single day. This success is, above all, a recognition of their exceptional dedication,’ Schwass added.

The accolade celebrates the successful evolution of Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden following its reopening in 2024 and underscores the property’s unique role as a destination where historic grandeur, contemporary comfort and genuine hospitality come together in perfect harmony.
