Dresden landmark awarded SmartScore Gold status.

Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden - Grand Palais View Room

Dresden, 12 August 2026 – On 22 July 2026, Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden was awarded SmartScore Gold status by WiredScore, an internationally recognised certification that acknowledges the hotel’s advanced digital building infrastructure and its effective use of smart technologies to enhance guest comfort and security, support sustainability and enable modern hotel operations.

The assessment evaluated the hotel’s digital services for guests, building and systems integration, cyber security, safety and sustainability solutions, as well as the technological foundations supporting efficient and future-proof operations.

Guests can experience these digital capabilities throughout their stay. Alongside standard Wi-Fi at 50 Mbit/s, the hotel offers ultra-fast connectivity of up to 100 Mbit/s, reliably supporting at least 250 devices simultaneously. This extensive network coverage is available throughout the hotel’s public areas, while a straightforward log-in process, a centralised user interface, booking services and a loyalty programme, together with smart TVs equipped with pre-installed streaming services, further enhance the guest experience.

The hotel’s smart infrastructure also includes an occupancy-based automatic climate control system that maintains a comfortable indoor environment while an automated ‘Eco’ mode reduces energy consumption in unoccupied rooms. Guests travelling with electric vehicles can also make use of charging points located directly at the hotel.

‘Our significant investment in the refurbishment has enabled us to create a smart building infrastructure that combines the highest levels of comfort and service with responsible resource management. We are delighted that SmartScore Gold status recognises the high technological standards of our hotel, as independently verified by WiredScore,’ said Marten Schwass, Managing Director.
