Christmas surprise in Dresden: Just in time for the festive season, the Taschenbergpalais Kempinski opens its booking channels

Dresden, November 2023 The Taschenbergpalais, which has been closed since the beginning of the year for extensive renovations, has some great surprises in store just in time for Christmas.

Bookable from 20 November 2023
The well-known Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski, currently undergoing extensive renovation and modernisation, will open its virtual doors on Monday, 20 November 2023. Guests can make reservations for stays, family celebrations or events via the redesigned booking portal. The first bookable date for overnight stays is 16 February 2024.
The Palais, which was inhabited by the Saxon aristocratic family for centuries and was the first luxury hotel in the Free State of Saxony to be restored to its former glory in the 1990s, not only shines as a modern luxury hotel following its extensive renovation but also combines contemporary, elegant design with the latest technical facilities and today’s requirements for modern, sustainable hotel operations.
The special opening offer–a 15% discount on the daily room rate, a credit of EUR 50 each for food and drink or a spa treatment and an individually curated experience in Dresden–makes a first visit incredibly attractive.

Rooms and Suites
Berlin-based designer Markus Hilzinger modelled the new interior design of the historic building on other sights in the city, such as the Dresden Zwinger and the Residenzschloss. He has succeeded in combining an important part of Saxon history with the requirements of a modern luxury hotel. The carefully curated interior, predominantly defined by three different colour schemes, picks up on the heritage of the building. High-quality materials, hand-picked furniture, a carefully refined lighting concept for the rooms and suites, and a noticeable attention to detail ensure a perfect blend of history and zeitgeist.

Public Areas
The Taschenbergpalais has always been the ‘living room’ of the people of Dresden, and the generously designed lobby with its integrated patisserie and lounge will be another highlight of the new Taschenbergpalais. Elegant design elements, a warm sandstone floor and textile wallpaper in an eye-catching design create the perfect symbiosis between grandeur and cosiness.

The Palais
With its carefully curated selection of seasonal and local specialities, as well as national and international classics, the restaurant Das Palais, which reopened in August 2023, has been ensuring that the special hospitality of the Taschenbergpalais can be experienced once again.

Taschenbergpalais Christmas Lounge
Visitors can get their first taste of the royal charm of Dresden’s Taschenbergpalais from 28 November 2023 at the exclusive Christmas market in front of the hotel’s main entrance. In addition to small delicacies from the Palais kitchen, the hotel offers homemade mulled wine and ice-cold champagne in the Taschenberg Christmas Lounge. Christmas decorations, carvings from the Ore Mountains and traditional Christmas stollen are available in the festively decorated Christmas hut. Vouchers for unforgettable experiences in the new Taschenbergpalais can also be purchased–a visit to the restaurant, drinks at the bar, a visit to the patisserie or an overnight stay in one of the royal rooms–all these would make for a very special surprise.
