Dresden, November 2025 – The annually published Falstaff Bar Guide once again celebrated the finest establishments in the German bar scene last week. The Falstaff community had over 2,300 cocktail bars and 700 wine bars across German-speaking regions to choose from in their evaluations. In total, 1,500 bars were included in this year’s guide. The award recipients were determined through a combination of community votes and expert jury assessment.
Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden Honoured: Bar ‘1705’ Named Best Hotel Bar of 2026
Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden’s in-house bar ‘Bar 1705’ triumphed in the ‘Hotel Bar’ category, a recognition of Bar Manager Thang Viet Trinh’s artistry in seamlessly blending the timeless character of a classic American Bar with a contemporary flair.
Named after the year the Taschenbergpalais was built, Bar 1705 embodies an innovative cocktail culture inspired by the elegance and exuberance of the ‘Roaring Twenties’. During the hotel’s recent renovation, the bar’s original design, reminiscent of the New York Oak Room, was further refined and elevated with exquisite, high-quality interiors. Within this stylish setting, Bar Manager Thang Viet Trinh and his team craft exceptional and inventive cocktails with genuine passion and creativity.
‘The award is a great motivation for us to continue on our current path and to constantly offer our guests something new,’ says the Bar Manager. The cocktail menu features unique creations such as the ‘Concierge’, a Tequila Blanco-based cocktail infused with roasted coconut and San Marzano tomato, and the ‘Dancer’, which combines vodka with thyme, lime and Earl Grey for a refined, aromatic experience.
