Spring (March – May) Nature and Hiking

Spring is the best time to visit Gozo for outdoor lovers. The weather is warm but not too hot, and the island is very green.

Scenic Hiking Trails
Sanap Cliffs
Start at the Sanap Cliffs in Munxar and walk towards Sannat. These are some of the highest cliffs on the island, offering incredible sea views.
Dwejra 
A gentle coastal walk starting right near our hotel. You’ll see the famous Inland Sea and rugged countryside.
Ramla Bay to Calypso’s Cave
Walk across the red sands and up the hill to see the cave where legend says Odysseus was kept captive.

Easter Traditions
In March or April, you can see traditional processions in the streets of Victoria and Għarb.
The Good Friday Procession (Victoria)
See life-sized statues and locals in traditional robes at St. George’s Basilica.
Għammar Hill Stations of the Cross
Walk up the hill opposite Ta’ Pinu National Shrine to see 14 marble statues representing the journey of Christ.
The Risen Christ (Xagħra)
On Easter Sunday, join the joyful celebrations where statues are "run" through the streets by local men.

Historical Discovery
This is the perfect time for photography, as the island is covered in colourful flowers.
Ġgantija Temples: Visit these UNESCO ruins in Xagħra when the weather is cool. They are older than the pyramids of Egypt.
The Citadel (Victoria): Walk the ancient walls of this fortified city for 360-degree views of the whole island.
Xlendi Tower: Hike to this 17th-century watchtower for a great view of the Xlendi cliffs



Summer (June – August) Sun and Festivals

Summer is the busiest time on the island. It is the best season for swimming and experiencing local life.

Traditional Village "Festas"
Every weekend, a different village has a big party with music and fireworks. 
Feast of St. John (Xewkija) - Late June
Famous for the massive dome of the church and huge street celebrations.
Feast of St. Lawrence (San Lawrenz) - August 10th
Our very own village feast. It’s a beautiful, intimate night with local bands and fireworks.
Santa Marija (Victoria) - August 15th
The biggest feast of the year. Expect horse races in the street and world-class firework displays.

Sea Adventures & Beaches
Comino & The Blue Lagoon: Rent a private boat from Mġarr Harbour to swim in the crystal-clear turquoise waters.
Kayaking at Dwejra: Paddle through the tunnel at the Inland Sea to reach the open Mediterranean and explore nearby sea caves.
Sunset at the Salt Pans: Visit the Xwejni Salt Pans in the evening. The sun reflecting off the geometric rock-cut pans makes for incredible photos.
Ramla Beach
Spend a full day on Gozo's most famous beach. The unique red sand and shallow turquoise water make it perfect for a summer tan.
The Blue Hole (Dwejra): A world-famous spot for diving and swimming in deep, cool blue water right next to where the Azure Window used to stand.

Few minutes from the hotel, watch the sun dip behind the famous "Fungus Rock" right by the sea.



Autumn (September – November) Culture and Food

The sea stays warm in Autumn, making it great for swimming without the crowds. This is also the season for food and music.

Take a private tour of this boutique vineyard and enjoy wine tasting with local snacks.
Ta’ Mena Estate (Xagħra)
Learn how local olive oil, tomato paste (kunserva), and Gozitan cheese (ġbejniet) are made.

Many local farms offer tours in October where you can see the traditional pressing of olives.

The Aurora & Astra Theatres
October is "Opera Month." These two historic theaters in Victoria host grand productions with international singers.
