In the heart of the Mediterranean Sea 

Wherever you are on the island, the sea is never farther away than a few minutes’ drive. The surrounding sea is largely unspoilt, crystal-clear and warm and the swimming and snorkelling are superb. The largest sandy beach, Ramla Beach, and the seaside resorts of Marsalforn and Xlendi are the main crowd pullers in Gozo. However, the coastline, spanning 43 km, is interspersed with many small hidden bays and inlets that help give on the feeling of being alone on the island. 

Genuinely natural 

Despite its tiny size, Gozo is diverse and does not conform to one particular cliché. While its sun and sea offerings are as good as one would expect them to be, a quick commute inland leads the visitor into a different world. A stroll through the peaceful countryside is wonderfully therapeutic and fights against the symptoms of living a hectic and stressful life. This is particularly true for the cooler months of the year, when Mother Nature covers the island with carpets of green, dotted with wild flowers. 

Stunning underwater world 

Malta was voted the third best diving destination in the world by some 35,000 readers of Diver Magazine, a North American publication. Indeed, Gozo’s dive sites enjoy an excellent reputation and attract novice and seasoned scuba divers alike. Even renowned explorer and diver Jacques Cousteau included the Inland Sea and the nearby Blue Hole in Dwejra in his top ten list of diving locations! 

Diving in Gozo is possible all year round, with sea temperatures rarely going below 16°C. Here, the Mediterranean Sea is at its richest, with abundant marine life, dramatic underwater scenery, caves, reefs, drop offs and visibility in excess of 40 metres.
