Qiantang River Tide

Trace back through history, the Qiantang tide-watching custom already prevailed from the Han Dynasty (202BC-220). Legend has it that 18th of August of the lunar calendar is the birthday of the Tide God, thus the tide will reach its peak this day. So the best tide-viewing season is around that day in August. Bathing in the autumn sun and the golden wind, a great many high-spirited travellers meet at the river bank to gain a view of the world wonder.
