Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra embarks on a series of initiatives to support breast cancer awareness

Accra, 1 October 2023 – If you had the opportunity to greatly impact the lives of people with the smallest of gestures, what would you do? In many ways, several individuals and corporations alike have sought to support communities stricken by many healthcare challenges. This desire is fuelled by a purposeful commitment to give back to the local communities where we reside or the nation at large and ensure that social welfare needs are met.

Imagine being in the position to savour the luxurious lifestyle Kempinski has to offer, imbued with renowned Ghanaian hospitality, all while making a positive change in the lives of individuals affected by one of the leading causes of cancer mortality in Ghanaian women – breast cancer. This is the challenge Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra has embraced under its flagship corporate social responsibility programme, BE Health, in partnership with Breast Care International Ghana, a nongovernmental organisation (NGO) bringing hope, health and empowerment to communities in Ghana.

Embarking on a series of initiatives to support both patients and healthcare professionals, Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra has set up innovative ways for its guests – both local and international – to be a part of this change and make their stay truly meaningful. With every restful night in any of the 269 luxurious rooms and suites of this 5-star hotel located in the heart of Accra, guests contribute GHS 15 (approximately 1 EUR) to support these initiatives, which include oncology training for healthcare professionals and treatments for 50 breast cancer patients. Alternatively, guests can savour the healthy yet delicious taste of its ‘BE Health Elixir’, especially crafted by skilled mixologists at the Gallery Bar. Every sip becomes an act of compassion, allowing guests to nourish their own wellness while making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

Of course, the staff of the hotel have not been left out of this wonderful initiative. Together with Breast Care International Ghana, the staff of Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra will embark on a bus stop campaign, raising awareness of breast cancer and its impacts on individuals and families to more than 15,000 people over a three-day period. Overall, the hotel is looking to raise money over the course of the year to sponsor these life-transforming initiatives and counts on its guests to join in the fight against cancer.

Now, is there a better way to savour sweet stays in Accra whilst being a part of something bigger?
