Budapest, 9 June 2023 – In the ground floor gallery of Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, the exhibition 'Attractio' by painter Gábor Krüzsely awaits visitors until the end of September.
Summer-starting surrealism and a sour cocktail-like abstraction can also be seen at the recently opened Gábor Krüzsely exhibition at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus.
The paintings of the artist born in Ungvár, living in Eger and recognised with the Hungarian Silver Cross of Merit transcend the established categories of fine art with a peculiarly consumable, intellectual irony. In his characteristic pictures, abstract and symbolic layers, 3D that bends the space and graphic solutions tending to almost exotic calligraphy easily melt into each other. As an outstanding Hungarian representative of the renewed surrealism at the dawn of the 21st century, Gábor Krüzsely re-mixes the usual movements and everyday associations of our trivial reality as a bittersweet ingredient, and we can simultaneously immerse ourselves in the almost appetising colours and lines, figures and moods of his works of art.
While the colours and shapes are constantly moving, playing ball, playing sports, and dancing, the line systems flowing over the surface of the paintings give a meaning to be deciphered separately, revealing new webs of meaning for us. We get truly eternal moments travelling in space and time, transcending our trivial impressions.
