‘BiodiverZOOM’ Exhibition by Krisztina Major at the Kempinski Promenade Gallery
Budapest, 23 June 2025 - Krisztina Major’s exhibition ‘BiodiverZOOM’ has opened in the Promenade Gallery on Floor 1 of Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest and is on display through the end of September 2025.
Krisztina Major is a Hungarian visual artist whose abstract paintings explore the profound interconnection between nature, the human psyche and the rhythms of life. Her ongoing series BiodiverZOOM, launched in 2023, creates a dynamic visual space where emotional states, natural systems and cosmic patterns converge.
This selection is organised around six elemental forces – not simply as symbolic references, but as vital energies that mirror human behaviour and our connection with the natural world. Wood reflects vitality and interconnected growth; water symbolises fluidity and emotional adaptability; air evokes movement, thought and invisible bonds; fire represents transformation and inner intensity; earth offers grounding and nourishment; and metal signifies clarity, resilience and the instinct to protect what truly matters.

‘Strong gestures zigzag through Krisztina Major’s paintings, then intersect at several points. It’s as if we witness the swirling of life on the canvases, in which countless human stories unfold, converging briefly or enduringly in space and time to complement and support one another’, said Dénes P. Szabó, art journalist and sociologist, at the opening.
The BiodiverZOOM paintings do not depict biodiversity in a literal sense, but rather convey its energetic resonance. Through bold, gestural compositions, Krisztina invites viewers to zoom in and out – from cells to ecosystems, from silence to symphony – offering new perspectives on the interconnectedness of all things.
Her creative process is deeply intuitive and often influenced by sound frequencies. Inspired by both Hungarian and international abstractionists, including Nádler, Reigl, Hartung, Lee Krasner and Kandinsky, Major’s work bridges emotional gesture with conceptual reflection. Following recent exhibitions in Beijing, China, this presentation highlights her emerging international presence and her belief that reconnecting with nature is essential – not only for harmony, but for survival.
