Soak in the New Season With Authentic Mayan-Inspired Treatments at Kempinski Hotel Cancun’s KAYANTA Spa

Cancún, Mexico, May 10, 2023 - Kempinski Hotel Cancún’s KAYANTÁ Spa is welcoming
travelers this season with an array of soothing Mayan therapies for a regenerative
getaway in the Mexican Caribbean. Ahead of National Wellness Month, the luxury spa is
enhancing its current menu and treatments to restore a sense of balance and wellbeing
with the use of indigenous ingredients from the Yucatán Peninsula, all provided by a
team of trained therapists that deliver a personalized and private experience.

From the moment guests arrive, they’ll be transported to a relaxing oasis that
encompasses all their senses, from touch to taste and smell. The spa amenities include
relaxation lounges, steam rooms, aromatherapy and Swiss showers, as well as garden
patios, which feature whirlpools and cold plunge pools.

KAYANTÁ stands for rebirth, which is the journey that we want to inspire in our guests
once they come in for their treatments,” says Ixchel Engel, Spa Manager at Kempinski
Hotel Cancún. “Their wellness experience starts from the moment they enter the spa and
connect with our team of trained therapists. The goal is to really understand the daily
activities that might be causing stressors in their bodies and tailor each treatment to help
them leave refreshed.”

The collection of massage therapies, facials, retreats and services like hot stones
massages and hair and eye treatments satisfy every area in need of revitalization.
Kayantá Spa incorporates local traditions and ingredients, with treatments that include
Mayan honey and herbs or the Flor de Mayo flower, from the Yucatán Peninsula.
To start the wellness journey, guests will first be greeted by their spa attendant who will
guide them through the hydrotherapy experience and help create custom tea-blends that can match their aromatherapy treatments. Once the treatment is finalized, visitors can
expect a selection of pastries and refreshments in the relaxation lounge.

Blending Local Elements and Techniques in Each Treatment

During National Wellness Month, Kayantá Spa is introducing the Shirodhara Therapy.
The traditional Ayurveda therapy stimulates the central nervous system using a stream of
warm aromatic oil in the third eye chakra (Ajna Chakra), which is linked to perception and
awareness. The gentle pressure and soothing warmth allows the body and mind to
experience a deep state of rest, similar to a meditative state. This 80-minute session
includes a full body massage, pouring of warm oil to the forehead and a scalp massage.

One of the most popular treatments at the spa is the signature KAYANTÁ Massage, which
features techniques such as Swedish deep tissue, trigger point therapy and reflexology
with relieving stretches and warm stones to help relax deep seated tension.

For those seeking to nourish their skin, the Sac-Nicté Journey offers a luxurious and
deeply hydrating body treatment that will leave your skin feeling soft and rejuvenated.
The journey incorporates a soothing massage with essential Flor de Mayo oils to provide
a calm and relaxing environment, followed by a full body exfoliation and a honey-infused
body mask.

Expecting mothers on a baby-moon also get a turn at relaxation with the spa’s most
unique treatment, The Sijil Prenatal Massage, designed for pregnancy-associated
stresses. Utilizing safe and effective techniques, a therapist will work to soothe tired
muscles, increase circulation and reduce tension with nourishing shea butter balm to
help increase skin elasticity and leave the skin smooth.

KAYANTÁ Spa features top tier brands like Eminence Organic Skin Care from Hungary for
tailored facial treatments, Moroccan Oil for hair treatments, Pytomer from France and
other tailored products created by one of the best rated laboratories in Mexico.

In addition to the spa, the hotel provides a state-of-the-art fitness center with
cutting-edge cardio and weight-training equipment. The fitness center also offers salsa
classes and yoga with a professional yogi to guide guests through a series of physical
postures linked with conscious breathing and fluid movements that develop core
strength, detoxify the body and clear the mind.
