A unique feature at Kempinski Hotel Bahía’s Spa is the Quartz sand bed

Estepona, 18 May 2023 - The Kempinski Hotel Bahía has a unique feature located within its spa, one of the few Quartz sand beds in Spain. Known for its healing properties this bed creates a gentle and deeply affecting warmth that not only provides physical and mental relaxation but also stimulates the metabolism and has a purifying effect. What makes quartz sand so special?

The small grains store heat optimally and release it very specifically. Moreover, the grains perfectly take on the shape of the body, so, enabling the guest to lie in complete comfort, with an evenly prolonged, gentle, and persistent heat emission from the sand. Each warm bead moulds to the shape of the body, creating a well-placed distribution of body weight and a soothing cocoon-like feeling. The quartz itself (largely considered one of the most powerful healing stones) acts as a constant micro-massage while imparting physical, mental and emotional healing energies. At the same time, the soothing heat beneath the body relaxes any nervous muscles, preparing the body for various therapies.

The beneficial effect: deep relaxation of mind and body. The sand bath can be supplemented by partial or whole body massages with warm quartz seals and oils. When using optional available lying surfaces, the spa tables are also suitable for any other treatments like hot stones, body wrapping, peelings, and packs, etc.

The sand quartz is also ideal for those who are recovering from accidents, or fractures to bones. It can also alleviate arthritis and other deep-tissue pains. The zero-gravity-position provides a particularly deep state of relaxation enabled by the inclination function.  The Kempinski Spa consists of six treatment rooms including the sand quartz room and a couple’s double spa suite with a Jacuzzi and futon bed.
