Kempinski Art Series announces a collection of works of Helena Revuelta

Estepona, 26 January 2023 – Kempinski Hotel Bahía continues its Kempinski Art Series with a new exhibition by Helena Revuelta called ‘New Dawn’.

Helena Revuelta is a visual artist who was born in Madrid and now lives and works in Málaga. She trained in plastic arts and graphic design at the School of Art La Palma and the School of Graphic Arts, both in Madrid. In parallel with her formative studies, she fostered her artistic skills in professional workshops with recognised masters of painting and photography. After working as a graphic designer for some years, she expanded her artistic training in different workshops at the Royal College of Art in London. Helena Revuelta has exhibited her work nationally and internationally in prestigious art hubs such as Miami, Seoul, New York, Luxembourg, Italy, Paris and Essen (Germany).

“One of the most repeated thoughts in my mind lately: My concern about the inexorable advance of climate change caused by the careless and wanton destruction of our environment. Perhaps because I listen to the voice of my subconscious, my deepest perceptions are deliberately expressed in these works, to remind us to live in the moment and enjoy the beauty that nature offers us, and that even though our passage through life bears wounds and creates confusion, it mustn’t remove our will to live. If we do not act now, our society, which justifies the atrocities and acts of desecration that it commits as necessary for the continuance of our existence, paradoxically, will cause our world to be a metaphor of expiration,” says Helena as she presents her latest collection.

Multiple contemporary art influences are visible, from Yayoi Kusama and Matthew Wong to – perhaps the obvious comparison – Georgia O’Keeffe, with these sinuous, organic forms.

The exhibition is open to the public from 3 of February to 31 of March 2023. The inauguration will take place on 8 February at 19.00 till 21.00. For those who wish to join the event, please email [email protected].

The Kempinski Art Series is part of the hotel’s ethos of being an art hotel, showing a range of artwork by both local and international artists and forming a cultural hub open to both guests and locals alike.
