Envision exploring the awe-inspiring sights exclusively with your family or friends, where you can attentively focus on every intricate detail of the ornate Islamic architecture. Our tour encompasses the principal sights of the Nasrid Palaces, proceeding from west to east: Mexuar, Comares Palace and Palace of the Lions.
The Mexuar, derived from the Arabic term for "place of counsel," served as the meeting place for the Council of Ministers. It also houses a lavishly adorned Oratory for prayer. Here, the Sultan received appeals from private citizens. In the 16th century, it was transformed into a Christian chapel and now exhibits both Muslim and Christian motifs.
The remarkable Palace of Comares remains virtually unchanged since the 14th century. It was home to the Throne Room of various sultans and features the Courtyard of Myrtles with its magnificent reflecting pool. The Palace of the Lions, with its namesake patio, is the core of the Alhambra and represents a masterpiece of Nasrid art. It was constructed by Muhammed V between 1362 and 1391.
Finally, the Generalife Gardens, with their exquisite stone fountains, orchards lined with orange trees, myrtle hedges and water channels, were designed to evoke an earthly paradise. They offer a serene space for relaxation on the grounds of the summer palace of Granada's Muslim rulers.
