‘The Taste of Thailand‘ at Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin

Berlin, 11 July 2023 - In July, the gastronomic areas of Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin will once again be exotic as the culinary series ‘The Taste of ...‘, launched in cooperation with other Kempinski sister hotels in March, reaches a new high point with the presentation of authentic dishes from the most diverse regions of the world. After ‘The Taste of Mexico‘ and ‘The Taste of Middle East‘, the upcoming delicacies are focused on another holiday paradise.

With the theme ‘The Taste of Thailand‘, chef Chatsorn Pratoomma from the Sindhorn Hotel Kempinski in Bangkok, who has flown in especially for the occasion, will present typical specialities from her country from 17 to 30 July 2023, which will be offered à la carte and as a menu in the Brasserie Quarré as well as in other areas of the Berlin luxury hotel.

The highly talented Thai, who has taken her love of her country's culinary art beyond her hometown of Bangkok to some of the best restaurants in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and even the Royal Hashemite Court in Jordan, is an expert at harmoniously combining dishes with exotic herbs and spices. She will treat the guests of Brasserie Quarré to the following 5-course menu created exclusively for them upon this special occasion:

Yum Hua Plee
banana blossom | chilli paste dressing | egg
***
Gai Kor Lear
Chicken | Southern marinade | Pineapple salsa
***
Tom Tao Jiew Pla
Salmon | Soybean Coconut Broth | Mushroom
***
Nuea Aroi
Beef Rump | Red Curry Sauce | Pickled Shallots
***
Khao Hom Mali
Steamed jasmine rice or

Tum Tim Krob
Ruby red dessert in sweet coconut milk

The menu is offered at 110 euros per person. All dishes can also individually be ordered à la carte.

In addition, a daily changing dish at a fixed price of 28 euros will bear the signature of the Thai professional chef and spoil the guests of Brasserie Quarré with Asian delights such as the Thai soup classics Tom Yum Goong with prawns, mushrooms and jasmine rice and Tom Kha Gai with chicken, mushrooms and coconut milk or Phad Thai Pak with fried rice noodles, vegetables and peanut.

Gourmets in a hurry have also been catered for – as Chatsorn Pratoomma has provided the short dish Nuea Dad Diew, a Thai-style beef jerky with chilli sauce, as a takeaway snack in the Adlon To Go shop next to the main entrance of the Grand Hotel.
And, for those who want to start the day the Thai way first thing in the morning, breakfast at the Brandenburg Gate offers a rare opportunity to surprise your palate with Kai Jiew, a Thai-style omelette with basil and shallots, served with chilli sauce.

Of course, a visit to Thailand ist not complete without colourful, fruity cocktails with the taste of sun, beach and sea in the form of lychees, ginger, edible flowers and YuZu puree, which provides an extra tangy citrus note. To end the day in a holiday mood, the Lobby Bar has expanded its repertoire in July with some of the tastiest original drinks from Bangkok, whose names would make you look forward to trying them: North Thailand, South Thailand, Bamboo Cocktail and I love You-Zu.

Reservations are accepted via email: [email protected] or telephone: 030-2261 1959.
