Berlin, 9 April 2024 – Big events are casting their shadows ahead, as preparations for the 71st Federal Press Ball, which is taking place this year under the motto "For freedom of the press. Protecting democracy." and is being held for the eighth time at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, is already in full swing. The food concept of the Federal Press Conference, which hosts the annual ball night, this time includes an extraordinarily diverse culinary world tour that will take guests' palates on a journey to all continents of the world.

The iconic hotel, which just a few days ago won the international World MICE Award as Germany's best event hotel for its successful event management, once again demonstrates its talent for perfectly organizing top-class major events.

Karina Ansos, Managing Director of the hotel, and Christina Reschke, who as Deputy Event Manager orchestrates the event at the Adlon, are once again looking forward to the exciting evening: "The Federal Press Ball with around 2,400 illustrious guests, lavish catering and varied entertainment in a glamorously decorated ambience is a logistical masterpiece every year, which our entire team works towards with great motivation and is very proud of. From our Brasserie Quarré to the Restaurant 1907 and from the Bel Etage to the Palaissaal, we are well prepared and look forward to a very special annual highlight full of unforgettable moments with our guests," both hotel experts agree.

Kitchen Director Stephan Eberhard, together with Eric Kissmann, who is responsible for the banquet kitchen, and the kitchen teams of all gastronomic areas of the Adlon present typical national specialties from all continents for the approximately 1,900 strolling guests in the public areas on two floors. European dishes include Maultaschen with veal and braised onions, raclette
cheese au gratin with sucuk and potatoes and borscht with lemon and crème fraiche. North America has arrived with its most popular cult snacks Crispy Chicken Fingers and Cole Slaw, Cesar Salad and Mac & Cheese with fried onions. African cuisine is authentically represented with the aromatic specialties kufta with couscous and mint as well as fufu with vegetarian stew and fish curry with chili and coconut milk, topped with cotton candy on chocolate trees in various colors and oabika cocoa bean pralines with cocoa bean juice. South American delights include pachamanca braised lamb with sweet potato and beans, shrimp ceviche with jalapenos and empanadas with spinach and avocado. The spirited continent is also ready to be enjoyed in style with fruity-sweet highlights such as three varieties of Hellado de Paila sticky ice cream and its best-known party drinks Caipirinha, Margarita and Rum Cocktail.

Lovers of the finest sushi, awaits a generous variation of the seafood classic of the Asian lifestyle, prepared live in front of their eyes, in the fireplace room. Right next to it, freshly shucked rock oysters are served with cheddar bread and vinaigrette.

The Berlin Wall pieces made from pecan brownie and salted caramel in the Brandenburg Room, which are designed with Berlin Wall motifs on edible paper, sprayed in color and can be signed by guests with a food coloring pen, are an extraordinary, edible work of art by the thirteen Adlon pastry chefs under the expert, creative direction of Chef Patissier Steffen Holle.

At the same time, the team around the Swiss chef of the Lorenz Adlon dining room, Reto Brändli, who was recently awarded two Michelin stars again, will present a gourmet menu created exclusively for the additional over 400 VIPs at the Federal Press Ball, including pea and mint foam soup with flamed scallops, glazed veal cheek with green asparagus and raspberry and verbena delice with rhubarb sorbet for dessert.

When Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the wife of the Chairman of the Federal Press Conference, Regina Kramer, as well as Chairman Mathis Feldhoff and Elke Büdenbender, the wife of the Federal President, dance the traditional opening waltz at 21:00, the glittering ball night also takes its course on the dance floor until the early hours of the morning. Those who wish can make use of the professional photo service at the Adlon and have their most beautiful moments captured as a memento. To make sure to look best, a professional cosmetics team is even on hand for a quick make-up touch-up.
