Savoir-Vivre at the Brandenburger Tor

Quarre terrace

French lifestyle in the heart of Berlin: Brasserie Quarré at Hotel Adlon Kempinski welcomes late summer with a newly designed terrace, a new host, and a seasonal menu full of finesse. With a view of the Brandenburg Gate, savoir-vivre is reinterpreted here – urban, casual, and culinarily sophisticated.

A touch of Paris on Pariser Platz: With 126 seats, the brasserie’s outdoor terrace has a fresh, elegant look – inspired by the charm of French boulevards. The high-quality bistro tables are from the Italian design house Quinti Sedute SRL, crafted from a specific Calacatta Viola marble slab that was hand-picked exclusively for this project. This rare, purple-veined natural stone from the Carrara region contrasts stylishly with the handmade outdoor chairs from Californian luxury furniture manufacturer Janus et Cie, made from weatherproof JANUSfiber and bronze-colored powder-coated aluminum.

Small tables for two create the typical flair of French street cafés – ideal for coffee, cocktails, or an aperitif at sunset. Larger tables offer space for lunch or dinner with a view of one of Europe's most famous landmarks.

The design concept was developed by Ukrainian studio ONE SEVEN Hospitality Procurement under the direction of CEO and Senior Consultant Anna-Maria Bogunova. With a keen sense for materials, proportions, and atmosphere, a harmonious overall design was created that perfectly matches the character of the brasserie.

“It has long been my dream to bring the unmistakable flair of French lifestyle directly to Pariser Platz – with a view of the Brandenburg Gate, the heart of Berlin. Now we invite our guests to experience this special savoir-vivre for themselves – whether with a glass of champagne, a sophisticated dish, or a relaxed summer evening under the open sky,” says Karina Ansos, Managing Director of Hotel Adlon Kempinski.

New host with capital city experience: At the same time, a new host is taking over the management of the brasserie: Romano Hennings, an experienced restaurant professional with over 25 years of experience in Berlin's top gastronomy scene. His career has included stints at the Grand Café Saint Germain, Borchardt, Grosz im Cumberlandhaus, and Literaturhaus Café. At Brasserie Quarré, he now brings his passion for hospitality, organization, and culinary experiences of the highest standard.

Enjoying late summer: In terms of cuisine, Brasserie Quarré focuses on seasonal lightness with aromatic depth – combining French elegance with Berlin down-to-earthness. The current menu offers a selection of German-French classics as well as summer highlights that combine culinary finesse with contemporary lightness – inspired by the brasserie tradition, reinterpreted for the capital.

In addition to vegetarian creations such as “Aubergine à l‘oignon de Roscoff“ – baked aubergine with tomato ragout, Roscoff onion and green pepper sauce  – and classics such as tagliarini aux truffes or Berlin veal liver “Foie à la berlinoise,” seafood also takes center stage. Particularly popular: freshly served Fine de Claire oysters, au gratin as “Huîtres gratinées Rockefeller” or as a stylish platter with marinated shrimp, fine dips, and tapioca crackers – ideally accompanied by a glass of champagne.
The menu offers an exclusive selection of Taittinger champagnes to go with it, including Brut Réserve, Rosé Prestige Brut, and the vintage champagne Brut Millésimé 2016. French aperitifs such as French 75, Kir Royal, or the classic champagne cocktail round off the experience.

Whether guests are looking for a new culinary discovery or a tried-and-tested favorite, the terrace of Brasserie Quarré invites to enjoy Berlin's late summer with all senses: pleasurable, relaxed, and with a touch of Parisian elegance. Reservations can be made by phone at +49 30 2261 1959 or by email at [email protected].
