Christmas Sends Delightful Advent Greetings Ahead

Berlin, 16 October 2023 – Crackling firewood, warming drinks with a scent of cinnamon and Christmas pastries in the stores all point to it: the festive season is getting ready to enchant people everywhere once again. No other time of the year makes the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin shine with such atmosphere and casts a new spell on hotel guests and day visitors every year like the Christmas season.

"The Adlon, decorated with lights and festive ornaments, always looks particularly glamorous, this time with our newly designed Adlon Christmas tree baubles available for purchase. It's a wonderful place to linger and enjoy with all your senses," says Karina Ansos, General Manager of the legendary grand hotel at the Brandenburg Gate. "The Advent wishes of our guests have inspired us again this year to create exquisite pre-Christmas offers that guarantee high-quality pleasures for the eyes, the palate and the ears," smiles the native Frenchwoman.

Double St. Martin's Goose
The prelude and thus the official opening of the Christmas "roast season" makes the duet "Goose in two courses" from 11 November to 23 December 2023 in the Brasserie Quarré. A spicy goose consommé with red cabbage cream and chestnut braised meat ravioli will be followed by breast and leg of goose with apple and red cabbage, crispy kale and potato pancakes at a price of EUR 68 per person.

Advent Afternoon Tea and „Winterwonderland“
To accommodate the high demand for café visits, especially during the popular Advent weekends and on Nicholas Day, the Adlon will temporarily expand its lobby capacity starting 1 December 2023. Until at least 23 December 2023, the adjacent Winter Garden will be transformed into a fanciful fairytale world with delicious Afternoon Tea on Advent Sundays amidst "snow-covered" fir trees and magnificent poinsettias.

Cuddly wild animals, selected by the General Manager herself and contributed to this Adlon excursion by a cooperation with the renowned plush animal brand Steiff, ensure an all-round Advent experience for young and old. In addition to the finest tea, freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream on Advent Sundays, for example, sturgeon caviar on green tea focaccia, speculoos tartelette with baked apple and a frozen "snowball" with hot caramel-cinnamon sauce will be delightfully celebrated in three courses at EUR 98 per person. On Advent Saturdays, taking into account the volume of guests, the elegant Bel Etage above the lobby with a view of the Elephant Fountain will alternatively be reserved for afternoon guests.

Oh, happy day…
Lovers of gospel music should make a note of the Advent Saturdays on 9 and 16 December, when pianist Joseph Odogu and his four singers will provide a musical pre-Christmas welcome for guests, Berliners and tourists at several locations in the Adlon and on the balcony above the main entrance, starting at 14:00 each day. In addition, young artists will continue to perform on Thursdays with a powerful-voiced repertoire and provide for relaxed evening hours with foot tapping in the Lobby Bar.

Advent Brunch in a class of its own with a visit from Santa Clause
If you want to experience a pleasure with your favourite people with highlights of the Adlon breakfast buffet and wintry dishes, the Advent Brunch is just right. On the first three Sundays in Advent, culinary temptations await guests on the Bel Etage from 12:30 to 15:00, some of which are served at the table, such as the Egg "Christmas" with red cabbage spelt parsley salad or a Lobster Bisque as a shot in a glass.

In the seafood area, the chefs open freshly caught oysters in front of the guests and present lobster specialties or scallops with citrus fruits. Gourmets of classic holiday dishes get their money's worth with the buffet dishes, some of which change weekly, including roast beef with gremolata, tender beef roulades, monkfish medallions with pumpkin, or champagne risotto with shrimp. Of course, crispy roast pieces of duck and goose -also carved live- with red cabbage, napkin dumplings or potato dumplings are not to be missed. Sophisticated dessert variations including home-baked Adlon stollen and Baumkuchen complete the buffet variety.

Professional childcare and a visit from Santa Clause round off the family-friendly brunch experience. The price per person including champagne, red and white wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee specialities is EUR 195. The amount is halved for children between the ages of six and twelve. Table reservations are gladly accepted by phone at +49 30 - 2261 1959 or via email: [email protected].
